Role Overview

Working within a vessel delivery team, the Safety and Compliance function provides vessel-facing oversight and practical support for assigned P&O Cruises and Cunard ships. The team translates organisational safety standards into clear, vessel-ready guidance while supporting investigations, audits and sustained compliance improvement.

Key accountabilities include:

• Provide vessel-facing ISM, GHESS and safety oversight, acting as the primary shoreside safety contact for assigned ships.
• Own SeaEvent and vessel incident governance, assuring reporting quality and managing actions through to effective close-out.
• Lead or support vessel-level investigations, reviewing root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate ship support visits, audit follow-up and compliance actions while helping onboard teams strengthen safety capability.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A Certificate of Competency as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch or Engineering Watch, an equivalent professional safety qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Experience implementing safety and compliance requirements, including ISM and occupational safety, within an operational maritime environment.
• Experience supporting audits, investigations, inspections and routine assurance activity.
• Practical capability in incident reporting, root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement.
