In our pursuit of excellence within our maritime department, we're seeking individuals who bring a wealth of marine asset, engineering and refit expertise to the table for our Superintendent, Marine Refit position. Role Overview

Working across the P&O Cruises and Cunard fleets, the Marine Refit team provides technical authority and governance for marine asset scopes within refits and major docking projects. The team partners with refit delivery colleagues, shipyards, classification societies, regulatory bodies and internal technical specialists.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Act as technical authority for marine asset scopes, ensuring work is specified, planned and delivered to required technical, safety and regulatory standards.
  • Lead lifecycle planning for major marine asset works, prioritising renewal, repair and upgrades using condition, risk and regulatory information.
  • Provide technical governance and assurance during refit execution, managing technical risk, quality and effective close-out.
  • Manage classification society and regulatory interfaces while developing standards, specifications and continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • An engineering-based bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent qualification.
  • A recognised reliability or systems engineering qualification.
  • In-depth experience in operational marine technical roles, with expertise in naval architecture, structural or life-saving appliance areas.
  • Strong experience interpreting technical data, assessing asset risk and providing sound recommendations within refit and dry-dock timescales.

Positioned within our internal structure from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President), this role is classified as a CUK07, offered as a full-time fixed-term contract position, until June 2027, with hybrid working including up to two days from home. The role involves less than 25% travel, with shipboard travel likely.
