The Role

The Senior Cloud Architect role is to develop and promote the strategic, business-aligned cloud approach for Carnival UK. To engage effectively with key Business & Technology stakeholders, to understand key business initiatives, and then guide the stakeholders to a commonly agreed cloud architecture. In particular to ensure this is done with robust, future-proofed yet affordable cloud services in place (for communications, network, compute, storage and specialised).

About You

You will be a dynamic Infrastructure Architect capable of providing quality thought leadership in cloud technologies, with recent strong experience primarily in AWS (but Azure is also valued). Ideally you will be an AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional, or an AWS Certified Solution Architect.

As well as having depth in on premise infrastructure (networks, compute and storage) you will also have a range of experience with cloud technologies, such as: Lambda; CloudWatch;
AppStream; SNS; SQS; S3; Direct; RDS; Dynamo DB; Workspaces; Batch; Docker; Kubernetes; Ansible; Teraform.

Beyond AWS, you may also have exposure to technologies such as: Adobe (AEM, Target, Launch, Analytics); Akamai; SAP hybris; Gigya; SOLR; SoftwareAG webMethods; Apigee; Jmeter; Selenium; Dynatrace; Splunk; Firebase; Okta SSO.

About the Team

As part of our Shared Service function, our Technology teams enable us to take our guests all over the world on our ships as well as supporting our colleagues at Carnival House and other locations. This supports everything from guests booking their holidays through our websites and contact centre, to ensuring that on-board applications and the infrastructure provide support across the globe. Technology draws on a diverse mix of skills within Carnival House with teams in Architecture, Strategy & Digital, Information Security, Compliance & Risk, Portfolio Management, Planning and Governance.
