In our continuous journey of growth and innovation within the Maritime Team here at Carnival UK, we are seeking a Senior Public Health Consultant to bring fresh insights and expertise to our department. 

Role Overview

This exciting and varied role consists of supporting the planning and delivery of Public Health policies for our fleet of 11 ships over our two brands, P&O Cruises and Cunard.

Providing operational and strategic support both shoreside and onboard, this role contributes to the establishment and maintenance of the full range of administrative processes, office activities, and fleet support regarding all Public Health matters and supports the continuous improvement of the Public Health programme. 

The nature of the role is varied and can change from day to day. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects to improve the public health space, supporting onboard teams and travelling to visit the fleet.

Working as part of a team ensuring that onboard operating standards and work practices comply with relevant global public health legislation and corporate and company standards, this pivotal role will involve:

  • Providing support and timely updates on public health issues locally and globally
  • Identifying emerging public health issues and effectively managing and advising on their impact to the CUK Public Health Department
  • You will provide specialist knowledge to various teams on board and shore side on a range of public health topics including food hygiene, recreational and drinking water safety, infectious disease control, pest control and health and safety. 
  • Provide advice, guidance and expertise where required to both internal and external customers on all matters related to Public Health
  • Carry out any monitoring, management and control duties in relation to Integrated Pest Management, Outbreak Prevention & Response, Food Complaint Management, Food Safety/Hygiene, Safe Water and any other Public Health areas.
  • Undertaking ad hoc duties as directed by the Senior Manager, Public Health

This role is positioned at CUK08 level within our organization and is available on a full-time, fixed term basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.

What You'll Bring:

Your unique background and skills are what will make you stand out. We're looking for:

  • An undergraduate degree in Public or Environmental Health or related field 
  • Proven experience in a similar position, working in a public or environmental health environment 
  • Experience with audit, inspections and/or risk assessments 

Experience in the cruise industry is highly advantageous.

  • Ability to demonstrate professional integrity and a commitment to your specialism
  • You will have a relevant environmental health related degree, diploma or qualification including any technical qualification including public health elements (water safety, air system safety, pool & spa safety and management) or food safety related catering qualification
