Job Description

Set your sights on a future with a role designed for aspiring professionals.
We’re looking for an Entertainment Production Assistant to join our P&O Cruises team at Carnival UK. This is a hands-on, admin-heavy role offering a unique blend of operational support, technical coordination, and cast onboarding responsibilities. If you're organised, tech-savvy, and passionate about entertainment logistics, this could be the perfect opportunity to build a solid foundation in the industry.

Please note: This role does not involve casting for productions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Administrative Support:

  • Admin-heavy role supporting a busy production office.
    • Managing cast compliance including passports, medicals, and visa arrangements.
    • Sending cast welcome emails and assisting with onboarding logistics.
    • Booking cast travel and coordinating schedules.

Technical & Studio Support:

  • Setting up and operating sound and filming equipment.
    • Ensuring all tech is ready for use: charging devices, turning on mics, preparing cameras.
    • Maintain and prepare all set and props required for rehearsals, ensuring they are ready for the start of each day.

Role Overview

The Production Assistant is an essential part of the day-to-day operation of the busy Academy Production Office. You’ll be involved in all aspects of administration and production paperwork for the onboarding process, ensuring our cast members are fully compliant before embarking. You’ll also support filming days with the operation of our in-house studio PA and equipment and help ensure our production shows meet safety standards and exceed guest expectations.

Key accountabilities for Entertainment Production Assistant include:

  • Deliver the cast onboarding and compliance process.
  • Support the Production Coordinator in day-to-day operations.
  • Be an integral link between departments at The Academy.
  • Liaise with Assistant Choreographers to plan weekly filming schedules.
  • Arrange, set up, and run filming and sound equipment.
  • Maintain and prepare all sets and props for rehearsals.

This role is classified as CUK13 and is available on a full-time permanent basis.

About you: the ideal candidate

You are more than just your CV. You're someone who brings:

  • Strong administrative and organisation skills

  • Experience in entertainment logistics or technical support.
  • Due to operational support of setting up heavy equipment, candidates must be comfortable with manual handling of heavy loads

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach.

In this role, your distinct personal attributes will be the key to standing out. We are on the lookout for candidates who want to excel. If you possess qualities that can drive success, we want you on our team. Your ability to blend analytical skills with interpersonal strengths will set the foundation for innovation and growth within our P&O Cruises department.

We recognise the value in having people with a variety of backgrounds, experience, and skills in our business. That means the role requirements here should be seen as a guide, not a checklist.
