Carnival UK is in search of a On Board Sales and Loyalty Manager, who is crucial in supporting the P&O Cruises team to nurture a high-performing team.
Role Overview
The Onboard Sales Channel is a significant portion of the sales distribution for P&O Cruises. It is the only owned sales channel where we have face to face interaction with the guests, where we can take feedback and not only optimise channel opportunities but wider business priorities as well.
This role is a shore-based role responsible for supporting the delivery of our Onboard sales strategy including targets and business plan, communicating opportunities, addressing challenges, implementing our campaign and marketing plans and building strong relationships with our wide mix of stakeholders.
You will be supported by two Onboard Sales & Loyalty Executives and this role will lead this team in their day-to-day delivery as well as continually developing them.
Onboard sales revenue is generated by guests who book their next holiday whilst on board with us.
This is managed by our fleet of talented Loyalty and Cruise Sales Managers (LCSMs). This role will work closely with these fleet-based teams to support their sales performance and ensure they are equipped with everything they need to deliver the targets.
As part of the wider Sales function, this role will work closely with our Trade Sales team, supporting them with opportunities to leverage sales with our travel agents and third party partnerships and raise awareness of the benefits for booking onboard.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive Onboard Sales Performance: Support the delivery of onboard sales revenue and conversion targets by managing cruise sales targets, analysing trading trends, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify and address opportunities or challenges.
- Lead Marketing and Campaign Execution: Develop and implement onboard sales marketing campaigns and promotional plans in coordination with Revenue, Marketing, and Commercial teams, ensuring ships are equipped with effective assets and materials.
- Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor a small shore-based team, overseeing day-to-day operations, coaching, appraisals, and personal development while supporting recruitment and training of ship-based Loyalty and Cruise Sales Managers.
- Support Fleet-Based Sales Teams: Work closely with Loyalty and Cruise Sales Managers onboard to optimise sales performance through training, resources, and regular communication, ensuring alignment with overall sales goals.
- Manage Onboard Loyalty Programme: Oversee the operational support and development of the onboard loyalty scheme, ensuring alignment with guest experience and commercial objectives.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong working relationships across departments (Sales, Marketing, Guest Experience, Resourcing, etc.) and with external partners, including travel agents, to raise awareness and drive onboard bookings.
- Budget and Reporting Accountability: Monitor and forecast marketing budgets, manage team expenses, and deliver regular sales and performance reporting to support data-driven decision-making.
- Manage and develop our key third party partnerships: maximising client base revenue opportunities, identifying new revenue streams, and developing strong marketing plans that focuse on engaging their membership bases with P&O Cruises.
Positioned within our internal structure from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President), this role is classified as a CUK08, offered as a full-time position, on a permanent basis, we offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.
