In our continuous journey of growth and innovation within the Maritime Team here at Carnival UK, we are seeking a Fleet Operations Doctor.
Role Overview
The Fleet operations Doctor will focus on providing day to day high level clinical operational support to the CUK fleet.
They will provide clinical operational and logistical support to the ship's doctors, CUK fleet and wider business, leading on the initial response and recovery operations for medevacs, significant medical events. They will co-ordinate and manage the day-to-day health operations for the CUK fleet including immediate medical and rotational issues, provide immediate SME input for response and recovery operations for clinical incidents and public health events. They will lead on clinical incident investigations, clinical audit and championing proactive quality improvement projects to ensure we meets the needs of our guests, crew and the wider business. They will provide clinical input into the initial case management of crew requiring care outside the home country. They will provide high level SME as part of the global health operations team to support the wider global health services goals as well as supporting the CUK clinical education programme.
The fleet operations doctor will lead the fleet operations team under the direction of the senior manager fleet operations doctor. They will work closely with key stakeholders within CUK health services, and foster relationships with key regional and global stakeholders to support the effective day to day operations of the CUK fleet whilst meeting our wider business goals.
The fleet operations doctor will support the 24/7 physician emergency clinical on call rota on an expected 1:3 basis or lower.
Key accountabilities include:
- Clinical, operational, logistical support for complex medical cases and medevacs
- Immediate medical facilities, including medical supplies, pharmacy and equipment issues.
- Overseeing telemedicine requests and developing the telemedicine programme.
- Managing urgent medical staff rotational issues.
- Providing clinical advice for guest medical queries.
- Undertaking clinical event investigations
- Oversee the management of the initial case management of crew requiring care outside the home country.
Position Requirements

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Full GMC registration
- Significant post graduate experience as licensed doctor in emergency or acute clinical setting including remote medicine.
- Experience managing other health care providers
