The Role
The In-House Employment Counsel will act as a part of the Carnival UK Legal Department, providing legal advice and support to the Carnival UK business, with a focus on the People (HR) Team, Maritime Team, and Senior Leadership Teams, enabling a cross-functional approach.
Accountabilities include:
- Providing legal advice and guidance on employment law matters to both our shore-based & ship-based colleagues
- Collaborating with stakeholders and providing legal advice on the terms of Executive Service Agreements, following best practice and legal requirements
- Providing legal advice on policy changes, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk
Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry-level) to CUK1 (Brand President). This role is a CUK07 and is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, with hybrid working in our Southampton office, a minimum of 3 days per week.
About You
Fresh ideas and different perspectives are what excite us most and help us to succeed. Alongside bringing these to the role, you’ll also need to:
- Essential: be a qualified solicitor with experience in UK employment law
- Desirable: have experience within the maritime industry, with some knowledge of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC)
