The Assistant Superintendent, Safety and Compliance provides delegated quality assurance, coordination, and administrative support within the Safety and Compliance team, reporting to the Director, Safety and Compliance. This role supports GHESS system oversight, investigation quality checks, audit readiness, data integrity, stakeholder coordination, and the delivery of safety improvement initiatives across the Carnival UK fleet.

This pivotal role will involve:

  • Providing support with investigations, quality assurance of investigation records, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions, while coordinating ship and shore stakeholders and tracking actions through to closure.
  • Supporting audit readiness and follow-up activity through audit briefings, evidence management, preparation coordination and action tracking.
  • Maintaining safety, occupational health and incident systems, completing data-quality checks and preparing reports relating to safety, compliance and ISM.
  • Supporting safety management and improvement initiatives through the administration of safety data, registers and records, and the coordination of communications, materials and stakeholders.

This role is positioned at CUK08 level within our organization and is available on a full-time, permanent basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.

What You'll Bring:

Your unique background and skills are what will make you stand out. We're looking for:

  • Experience supporting maritime safety, ISM, compliance or risk-management activities within a regulated operational environment.
  • Experience supporting the operation and upkeep of safety-management systems, data and documentation.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting audits, investigations and compliance activity.

About You: The Ideal Candidate

You are more than just your CV. You're someone who brings:

  • Strong time-management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A meticulous approach to maintaining accurate, complete and audit-ready records and documentation.
  • A proactive and resourceful approach to identifying inconsistencies, resolving coordination issues and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Professionalism and strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with ship and shore colleagues.
