We’re looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Hotel Refurbishment to fill this hybrid role based in Seattle. In this critical role you’ll be responsible for planning and managing fleet technical hotel projects across Holland America Group and working with company operations departments, shipboard senior management, contractors and shipyards to ensure completion within the approved financial plan and agreed timescales. You’ll lead a team of two Project Managers ensuring engagement and collaboration with shipboard personnel in project development and implementation to ensure early understanding and adoption of key sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Support the development of projects and manage them in accordance with company policies, procedures, maritime legislation, flag, and classification requirements.
- Manage the progress of projects and the control action plans while providing regular updates to senior management by utilizing multiple project management tools.
- Manage projects in maintaining financial targets by collaborating with Supply Chain to review and refine existing processes, identify areas of improvement and cost saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with other brands to discuss concept design, objectives then develop technical specification and bid documents,
- Draft and present business plans, budget analysis and project timelines to stakeholders in various departments. Assure appropriate and accurate information flow both within and outside the organization.
- Advise and participate in contract negotiations, pricing and change orders. Maintain close contact with contractors and vendors to resolve any possible challenges in a proactive manner.
- Perform onsite inspections at dry docks to ensure quality adherence/assurance of work completed and timely production. Ensure projects are accomplished following applicable regulatory requirements and that all documents are updated and archived.
- Submit all required regulatory documents and plans to appropriate Classification Society for review and plan approval.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- 8 years of ship operations and project management experience
- Cruise ship, naval or offshore industry experience
- Leadership with a good understanding of interpersonal, decision making, communication and empowerment skills to enable interaction with shipboard & shoreside management, employees, shipyards & vendors
- Highly proficient in the use of computer business applications and project planning/management tools
- Good understanding of project commercial cost analysis & negotiation
- Strong written and oral communication skills, for presenting, negotiating, and resolving technical, inter-personal and commercial matters
- Self-starter capable of and willing to participate in a mix of remote / home working and office visits for collaboration events
- Capable of multi-tasking and working under pressure to maintain agreed project and logistics deadlines
- Able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, leads through empowerment and demonstrates high relationship building capabilities
- Working towards or achieved higher degree (MSc Engineering / Projects Field) and Chartered Status.
- Knowledge of current/impending marine regulations, legislation, USPH standards
- Strong understanding and collaboration with external vendors for Marine equipment and systems technical knowledge & evaluation
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).
Please note that this is a hybrid position based in Seattle, WA. Candidates must be comfortable coming into the office 3 days/week (Tuesday-Thursday).

- Base Salary Range: $100,000.00-$135,000.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
