The Director, Performance Analytics is responsible for leading a comprehensive analytics team across all Onboard Revenue (OBR) categories to build actionable insights, enhance visibility, and drive data-driven decision making. This role involves developing and executing forward-thinking analytical strategies that support revenue optimization, operational efficiency, and strategic planning across the cruise portfolio. The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams including revenue management, operations, and executive leadership to deliver analytical projects that drive business performance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in data analytics, database management, and team leadership with a strong background in the cruise, hospitality, or travel industry.

Responsibilities 

Analytics Strategy & Execution

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive analytics strategies across all OBR categories (Food & Beverage, Shore Excursions, Photo, Retail, Spa, Art, Weddings, Connectivity). 

  • Define performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to measure results and uncover optimization opportunities. 

  • Deliver actionable, data-driven insights that inform pricing, product innovation, and promotional strategies.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and develop a high-performing analytics team, through coaching, mentoring, and strategic direction. 

  • Establish team goals, performance standards, and professional development plans. 

  • Foster a culture of analytical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement. Collaborate with HR on talent acquisition and retention strategies. 

Advanced Analytics & Insights

  • Execute complex analytical projects using SQL, database management, and advanced analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel). Develop predictive models, trend analysis, and performance dashboards. 

  • Translate complex data into actionable business recommendations for executive leadership and operational teams. 

  • This Director will be pivotal in advancing industry standards by facilitating the introduction of machine learning to unlock deeper insights and drive continuous innovation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with AVP Casino & Performance Analytics, operations, marketing, revenue management among others to align analytical initiatives with business objectives. 

  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure data integrity and system optimization, and to streamline processes. 

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, information systems, or hospitality management

  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related analytical fields within the cruise, hospitality, travel, or retail industry

  • 3+ years of experience managing and leading analytical teams directly

  • Proven experience with database management, data warehousing, Python and/or SQL development

  • Experience with advanced analytics tools including Power Bi, Tableau, and statistical software

  • Background in revenue management, performance analytics, or related commercial functions

  • Experience working with large datasets and complex analytical projects

  • Track record of translating analytical insights into actionable business recommendations

  • Experience presenting analytical findings to senior leadership and executive teams

  • Preferred: Experience in cruise industry onboard revenue categories (Shore Excursions, Photo, Retail, Spa, Art, Connectivity) or similar hospitality/travel revenue streams

  • Strong communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills, enabling effective relationships, collaborations and interactions with senior executives, peers and teams across multiple functions/departments.

  • Excellent leadership skills and credibility, with a strong track record of building, retaining and developing high-performing teams.

  • Knowledge of overall business strategy and operations including business processes, financial statement analysis, revenue and cost components and drivers of these measures.

  • Analytical mindset with expertise in data-driven decision-making and financial modeling.

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

  • Organizational skills and the ability to handle multi-tasking and work under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Base Salary Range: $120,000.00 to $162,000.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
