We’re looking for an experienced Activities and Enrichment Specialist to fill this hybrid role which is based in our Seattle office. In this critical role you’ll be responsible for the development, execution, and continuous enhancement of guest-facing destination content and activity-based programming across the fleet. You’ll oversee the end-to-end process of new initiative rollouts — including designing and developing activities, writing clear operational procedures, and managing all related content and deliverables. By collaborating closely with both shoreside and shipboard teams, you’ll ensure that each initiative aligns with brand standards, meets guest expectations, and is operationally viable. This position requires a balance of creative innovation, strategic planning, and practical implementation to deliver memorable and immersive guest experiences. You’ll serve as the subject matter expert in managing all supporting materials and procedures for newly developed initiatives and will be expected to independently manage these workstreams from concept to shipboard execution. You’ll play a key role in interpreting guest feedback data and collaborating directly with onboard teams to refine programming in real time.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with content development & writing research, write, and manage engaging, accurate, and brand-aligned standards content for onboard activities and enrichment programs. 
  • Ensure all content supports the activity, event, destination narratives and guest enrichment while maintaining consistency across the fleet. 
  • Draft, finalize, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), implementation guides, and training materials to support successful delivery of programming onboard. Use platforms like Airtable to organize, update, and distribute standardized content.
  • Design and evolve interactive onboard experiences and activities by collaborate with shipboard teams to pilot, refine, and embed new initiatives, providing direct support and guidance through rollout and facilitation. 
  • Partner with shipboard leadership to provide clear communication, activity and event training resources, and support tools to ensure consistency and excellence in execution across all ships.
  • Analyze guest feedback, satisfaction scores, and operational reports to assess program performance. Make data-informed recommendations for enhancement, revision, or retirement of activities and initiatives. 
  • Travel to ships as required to support the physical installation, training, and successful launch of new programs and initiatives. Provide onsite expertise to ensure alignment with brand standards and a seamless guest experience.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion, quality assurance, and alignment with brand and operational standards. Identify opportunities for process improvement, compliance, and cost efficiencies.
  • Performing other duties as needed. Adhere to Corporate Policies and Procedures, including Code of Conduct, Audit Procedures and any control related responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, performing arts, entertainment management, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience. 
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace tools.
  • Demonstrated success managing full-cycle recruitment processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and candidate tracking. 
  • Experience supporting high-volume or deadline-driven staffing environments. Applied knowledge of recruitment systems and workflows, including maintaining applicant data, dispositioning candidates, and supporting compliance requirements. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, planning, or logistics teams to align hiring activity with changing business needs. 
  • Background in the cruise industry, ideally within entertainment, with a working knowledge of shipboard structure and the expectations for Activity and Stage team roles.
  • Prior use of Pinpoint or other casting-specific systems. 
  • Familiarity with Airtable or other collaborative planning tools. 
  • Understanding of shipboard operational models or rotational contracts. Training or coursework in recruiting, HR, or talent acquisition systems.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Holland America is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).

Please note that this is a hybrid position based in Seattle, WA. Candidates must be comfortable coming into the office 3 days/week (Tuesday-Thursday).

  • Base Hourly Range: $33.32-$45.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base pay is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
