The Holland America Summer Internship Program is a 10-week paid (remote) summer internship opportunity designed to provide exposure and insight to professional careers in the amazing leisure travel, cruise industry. The selected interns will work on departmental projects as well as participate in professional development and enrichment activities.
2026 Program Dates
- Program runs 10 weeks from June 15th - August 21st.
Eligibility
Eligible candidates are enrolled in a four-year accredited undergraduate program (where they are at least a rising junior) or in a graduate/Ph.D. program and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
MUST NOT be a graduating senior in the summer 2026.
Compensation
Undergraduate - $25.00/hr, Graduate - $35.00/hr, Ph.D. - $45.00/hr
Intern Project Details
Reporting to Holland America Line’s Senior Manager, Shorex, Talent Development and Administration, you’ll be responsible for:
Collecting Shore Excursions photos from multiple sources to edit, resize and author to brand websites using AEM.
Verifying process flow to confirm the photos are correctly replicated on the website, secondary flow and the Navigator and Source applications.
Reviewing data accuracy within the Shore Excursions port kit database completing necessary updates and revisions.
Obtaining an understanding of individual brand marketing/digital asset standards.
Responsibilities
Authoring page properties and componentry to assign sourced and uploaded images to create customer facing pages.
Resizing images; cropping; saving optimized for web use.
Auditing current Airtable port kit Database for accuracy and complete necessary updates.
Image sourcing in accordance with brand style and guidelines from within our internal Digital Asset Manager and We transfer.
Reviewing all web-based sources to confirm photos have replicated properly.
Attending mandatory meetings with Shorex Management team to present updates and receive project feedback
Working closely with marketing and web development to understand branding expectations.
Collaborating with Shore Excursions product team, and shipboard excursions teams to confirm accuracy of port information.
Requirements
Experience using Project Management software.
Proficiency using MS office Suite including Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Outlook & MS Teams.
Ability to work independently and in a group environment with excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and team working skills.
Basic Adobe Photoshop skills: resizing images; cropping; saving optimized for web use
Adobe Experience Manager proficiency. To including Authoring photos to live websites.
Experience using Asana, AirTable, We Transfer and InDesign, preferred.
Ability to prioritize and maximize efficiency.
Well organized and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and managers.
The types of duties the students will perform will vary and may require some technical tasks, projects and/or work that may require specific proficiencies, technical abilities and/or computer skills.
