The Holland America Summer Internship Program is a 10-week paid (remote) summer internship opportunity designed to provide exposure and insight to professional careers in the amazing leisure travel, cruise industry.  The selected interns will work on departmental projects as well as participate in professional development and enrichment activities.

2026 Program Dates

• Program runs 10 weeks from June 15th - August 21st. 

Eligibility

• Eligible candidates are enrolled in a four-year accredited undergraduate program (where they are at least a rising junior) or in a graduate/Ph.D. program and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

• MUST NOT be a graduating senior in the summer 2026.

Compensation

• Undergraduate - $25.00/hr, Graduate - $35.00/hr, Ph.D. - $45.00/hr

Intern Project Details

Reporting to Holland America Line’s Senior Manager, Shorex, Talent Development and Administration, you’ll work closely with Shorex Directors and Product team to determine critical project Data points.  Under general direction, you’ll conduct in-depth research and analysis of key companies, product catalogs, geographic markets, and competitors to uncover key, actionable information and summarize into concise deliverable reports. You’ll also review Bazar voice reviews to identify and correct incorrectly assigned photographs and reviews. 

Responsibilities

• Identify Key Competitors and assess their Shorex product offering, customer satisfaction, product performance and market gaps to compare against our current Shorex program catalogue. 

• Gather and analyze historical data related to shore excursion product, including past attendance, feedback, and operational challenges.

• Review Bazar voice customer reviews to identify incorrectly assigned product photos and reviews.

• Review Shorex Escort database for data trends, and audit the submitted photos to remove visual assets that do not meet brand standards.

• Collect feedback and comments from passengers, tour guides, and other stakeholders to ensure the analysis address’ practical needs and areas for improvement.

• Attend mandatory meetings with Shorex Management team to present updates and receive project feedback.

• Work closely with Shorex Directors, and Product team to identify valuable project information.

• Learn Basic functions within MXP, Fidelio, SharePoint and Air table to extract historical data.

Requirements

• Experience completing market research and compiling competitive data analysis/SWOT analysis.

• Proficiency using MS office Suite including Outlook & MS Teams.

• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, power query, data validation and indexmatch.

• Ability to digest, synthesize and manipulate large sets of data into a clear, concise summary.

• Ability to work independently and in a group environment with excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and team working skills.

• Ability to prioritize and maximize efficiency.

• Well organized and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and managers. 

• The types of duties the students will perform will vary and may require some technical tasks, projects and/or work that may require specific proficiencies, technical abilities and/or computer skills.

• Recent coursework or experience in AI Engineering preferred.
