2. Department Summary
The Electrical Assets team supports the safe and efficient operation of shipboard electrical systems, including navigation, communication, elevators, and escalators. The team works closely with shipboard personnel, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance, reliability, and innovation across the fleet. Our mission is to maintain and enhance critical systems that enable smooth sailing and guest satisfaction.
3. Internship Project Summary
Project Title: Navigation System Deficiency Dashboard
Objective: The intern will develop a centralized Power BI dashboard to track navigation system deficiencies across the fleet.
Impact: This tool will consolidate fragmented tracking into a single, visual, and searchable platform, improving communication between shipboard and shoreside teams, streamlining decision-making, and optimizing resource allocation.
4. Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities)
Support, track, and monitor short- and long-term projects, budgets, and deliverables.
Respond to daily issues reported by shipboard teams and facilitate resolution.
Collaborate with class societies, flag states, and the Coast Guard regarding equipment status and compliance.
Coordinate communication between contractors, shipboard personnel, and internal departments.
Assist in reviewing and improving contracts for navigation and communication systems.
(Optional) Participate in ship visits to gain firsthand understanding of systems and operations.

6. Specific Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Maritime Studies, or related field preferred)
Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills; interest in maritime operations and navigation technology
Technical: Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools
Preferred Experience: Coursework or projects related to systems integration or data analytics
Key Details:
- Hybrid Program: This internship is a hybrid program based in Miami, Florida. Students must be available for the entire duration of the program and willing to work a hybrid schedule, combining both in-office and remote work. This is a full-time opportunity, with interns working 40 hours per week. While hours may vary, interns can expect to work from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Eligibility: Juniors, seniors, and graduate students are preferred for the program.
- Technical Requirements: Interns will be provided with a company-issued laptop and will need reliable internet when working remotely.
