The Trade Analytics & Reporting Analyst is responsible for supporting end-to-end cross-functional projects that have a high impact to Trade Sales department at Carnival Cruise Line. This role will be responsible for supporting data extraction from multiple databases, consolidating results, updating dashboards, and providing ad hoc analysis as needed. He/she will also manage, control, and analyze multiple aspects of the Trade Sales budget and forecasting process, facilitating expense submissions and reconciliations for all employees across various cost centers.  This role works closely with key inter-departmental functional areas such as Financial Planning and Reporting, Trade Sales, Trade Support, and Accounts Payable.

Job Functions:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex analysis across all levels of the organization in A simple and quickly understandable format with the appropriate amount of detail and explanation.
  • Must have hands-on experience extracting Data from database application systems such as SAS and SQL developer. Preferred knowledge of the cruise industry.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (xlookup, pivot tables, conditionals, etc.), Microsoft PowerPoint, database systems such as SAS and SQL developer, and business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required - Business, Economics, Operations, Finance, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in analytics, project management, problem solving, database management. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Creates and maintains technical knowledge of database/reporting applications such as SQL, SAS, SSRS. Identifies, develops and executes recommendations to increase report automation and efficiencies amongst the Trade Department’s work.
  • Monitors various department mailboxes as requested by management to address time sensitive ad-hoc reporting requests. Delivers daily, weekly, and monthly budget reports and performance updates. Provides support with any questions regarding the submission and status of invoices.
  • Audits and monitors the expenses for the Trade Sales department in multiple database platforms, reconciling them versus the approved budget/forecast for each cost center, identifying gaps and providing variance explanations between budget and forecast to management. Conducts General Ledger (GL) verification to ensure expenses are being coded per accounting principles and management guidelines. Provides feedback/support as needed to ensure users adhere to payment guidelines to remain in compliance with company policy.

  • Attends meetings and collaborates with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders for functions including and not limited to communicating results, providing input to increase efficiency, and supporting projects from end-to-end across all phases in various categories impacting the Trade Sales department. 
  • Supports projects from end-to-end across all phases in various categories impacting the Trade Sales department. Obtains an in-depth understanding of all Travel Agency commercial terms and contractual agreements to support its execution, including but not limited to sending agreements, providing periodic performance updates for select Travel Agencies and/or stakeholders, and participating in the creation of ad hoc incentive plans.

Physical Demands:  Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel:  None or very little travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

This position is classified as “in-office.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
