Key Details:
Hybrid Program: This internship is a hybrid program based in Miami, Florida. Students must be available for the entire duration of the program and willing to work a hybrid schedule, combining both in-office and remote work. This is a full-time opportunity, with interns working 40 hours per week. While hours may vary, interns can expect to work from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
Relocation Support: Carnival provides housing for interns who are relocating to Miami for the summer.
Eligibility: Juniors, seniors, and graduate students are preferred for the program.
Technical Requirements: Interns will be provided with a company-issued laptop and will need reliable internet when working remotely.

Global Sourcing- Fuel Procurement- Analyst
Department Summary
Our department is responsible for strategic sourcing, procurement, and management of marine fuels across Carnival Corporation’s global fleet.
Secure supply & negotiate contracts: Manage multi-year and spot fuel agreements worldwide, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable availability in key ports.
Ensure compliance: Oversee BDN (bunker delivery note) accuracy, emissions regulations, and sustainability standards across all brands.
Drive innovation: Develop digital tools (dashboards, port encyclopedia) and lead category management initiatives, including planning for future fuels like LNG.
Collaborate globally: Work closely with suppliers, brand teams, and ports to resolve supply issues, maximize savings, and support fleet operations.
Enable savings & strategy: Deliver cost reductions, risk management, and supply security while supporting corporate sustainability and decarbonization goals.
Internship Project Summary
Prompt: To create a centralized Port Encyclopedia that consolidates intelligence on marine fuel supply options, infrastructure, and operational considerations across key global ports. This tool will improve sourcing efficiency, support supplier reviews, and provide a quick-reference guide for the Fuel & Energy team and brand operations.
Data Collection
Gather information on fuel suppliers, barge availability, infrastructure, compliance requirements, and pricing trends by port.
Work with procurement managers and suppliers to validate data accuracy.
Content Structuring
Develop a standardized template for each port (suppliers, volumes, barge types, operational notes, restrictions, contact details).
Organize information in a way that is easily accessible and user-friendly.
Tool Development
Input collected data into a centralized format (dashboard, shared database, or structured document).
Recommend visualization formats (map view, searchable database, quick-reference charts).
Supplier Performance Insights (optional stretch goal)
Track metrics such as supplier responsiveness, competitiveness, reliability, and compliance issues.
Suggest a simple scorecard to complement port-level data.
Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities)
Collect and consolidate port-specific data from internal records, supplier inputs, and industry sources.
Identify critical information such as available fuel types, suppliers, barges, infrastructure, restrictions, and compliance requirements.
Design a uniform template for documenting each port’s details to ensure consistency and comparability.
Align template structure with team needs (sourcing, operations, compliance, sustainability).
Organize data into a centralized, user-friendly reference (Excel, dashboard, or database).
Enable searchability and easy updates for long-term usability.
Coordinate with procurement managers to validate supplier and port data.
Support in gathering supplier performance metrics (e.g., response times, reliability, competitiveness).

Specific Qualifications
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to collect, interpret, and organize data; proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, charts) required; familiarity with databases or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) a plus.
Research Abilities: Skilled in gathering information from multiple sources, verifying accuracy, and synthesizing findings into clear outputs.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication; ability to prepare concise reports and deliver presentations confidently.
Collaboration: Comfortable working in a cross-functional, international environment and engaging with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
