Essential Functions:
Preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations.
Assistance of the Corporate Support annual operating plan and the quarterly forecasting.
Assistance with accounting needs of Corporate Support departments & Ad-hoc analysis and transactional research.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Scope: The Staff Accountant supports Corporate Support's financial planning/forecasting and accounting activities, contributing directly to the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, and Corporate Support month‑end close processes. The role interacts with multiple departments across the business, ensuring accurate financial data, timely reporting, and adherence to accounting standards. This position influences corporate functions by maintaining reliable financial information that supports decision‑making across the organization.
Problem solving: The role requires strong analytical capabilities to interpret financial data, identify variances, and resolve discrepancies within tight deadlines. The Staff Accountant must evaluate information, anticipate potential issues in financial processes, and develop practical, solutions‑oriented recommendations. This includes researching accounting questions, improving processes, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records under varying business conditions.
Impact: The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the quality and reliability of financial information used across the organization. Accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and internal reports directly support leadership’s ability to make informed decisions. The role upholds accounting standards, strengthens internal controls, and contributes to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the business.
Leadership: While the role may not include direct supervisory responsibilities, it requires strong leadership qualities in managing processes, coordinating with cross‑functional teams, and upholding high standards of accuracy and integrity. The Staff Accountant must demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and the ability to guide others through financial procedures. The position also requires managing workload peaks, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining accountability for timely, high‑quality deliverables.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting)
Master’s Degree (preferred)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or similar certification (preferred but not required)
1–2 years of accounting experience, ideally in a public accounting firm or comparable environment
Experience with Oracle Financial Systems (preferred)
Experience with Hyperion Essbase (preferred)
Experience with BlackLine (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality work.

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
