This role manages projects requiring close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders (Marketing, Ship Building, Guest Operations, Revenue Management, Fleet Deployment, Guest Care, etc.) to develop content plans; internal partners (Creative Services, UX/UI, DevOps, ADA, SEO) and external partners (agencies, vendors) to design and develop the content following best practices; and the Web Content team to execute. The Senior Specialist, Web Content ensures content quality, consistency, relevancy and compliance, with the goal of improving the user experience on carnival.com while meeting established business goals and objectives.
Essential Functions:
Lead conversations with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Ship Building, Guest Operations, Revenue Management, Fleet Deployment, Guest Care, etc.) to develop content plans for their incoming requests. Proactively seek information on new product and determine what information is relevant to the .com audience, where it should live, what it affects and when it should be published.
Oversee the creation of content by in-house, agency and freelance creative teams, including briefing teams on content needs and providing direction/feedback to ensure the final output meets business objectives, aligns with our brand voice, is relevant to the target audience, works in its intended location within the site, follows digital style guidelines across platforms and devices, is optimized for SEO/AEO/GEO and is ADA-compliant.
Content team – Provide leadership, mentoring and training to Content Specialists, Coordinators and contractors; Brief team on projects, ensure they have what they need to successfully complete their tasks; Assist with hiring, onboarding and training of new team members.
Collaborate with leadership to develop content merchandising plans for new programs and product enhancements to maximize assets and display in the most relevant sections of the site for the target audience. Maintain content calendar, including live dates for product launches being supported by .com, deployment dates for development relevant to content, maintenance schedule (e.g. dry docks, onboard enhancements, itinerary changes), recurring content audits.
Implement new content and maintain existing content using CMS and ecommerce software (some HTML/CSS), ensuring it meets performance, SEO and compliance requirements across platforms and devices. Curate user-generated content using aggregator platform.
Evaluate incoming content creation/update requests and determine next steps (resources needed, priority)
Align with other eCommerce teams to ensure content being implemented follows best practices and compliance requirements (SEO, performance, ADA), incorporates learnings (A/B and user testing) and is properly tagged for analytics/reporting.
Monitor performance of existing content using A/B testing, analytics and digital experience platforms to identify opportunities for improvement.
Identify and drive ways to continuously improve upon production processes. Communicate business requests to product owner/scrum teams, assist in requirements gathering and reviewing completed business requirements needed for development work to be approved, sized and prioritized.

Scope: Contributes to the execution of Carnival Cruise Line’s digital content strategy for carnival.com, focused on non-booked guest experiences. The role operates across the full content lifecycle — including planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and optimization — while ensuring content accuracy, quality, and compliance. It partners cross-functionally with Marketing, eCommerce, IT, Guest Operation, Technical Operations, Commercial, etc. to gather requirements, develop content plans, coordinate updates, and deliver a consistent, high-quality digital experience for a global audience.
Problem Solving:Requires collaboration across multiple teams to ensure content aligns with best practices and business goals, while maintaining consistency and compliance throughout the content lifecycle.
Impact: Directly influences the user experience on carnival.com and supports the achievement of established business goals and objectives through strategic content planning and execution.
Leadership: This role will not have direct reports but provides mentorship to the content team consisting of Coordinators, Specialists, and Contractors. Brief the team on projects and assists with onboarding and training of new team members.
Essential/Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree - Marketing or Computer Science
4+ years in Digital Marketing or related field, preferably with both editorial and technical experience
Essential experience required
Knowledge of CMS software (Sitecore a plus) and ecommerce platforms (Hybris a plus); Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Word); HTML, CSS, Java Script, Photoshop, a plus; Experience with project management systems a plus (e.g., Asana, Jira)
Strong understanding of the web, mobile interfaces, interactivity, and user experience; Familiarity with content management systems, digital asset management, SEO/AEO/GEO best practices; Familiarity with ADA compliance, a plus; Ability to specify technical requirements to technical/development teams; Exceptional communication and organizational skills; Detail-oriented; Strong independent decision-making, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills; Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; Ability to work with cross-functional teams; Comfortable with changes in direction; Proactive, can-do attitude, team player; Desire to continuously learn.
Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Physical Demands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
