This role is responsible for consolidating analytical information from the team, reporting, and enhancing the efficiency, communication, and visibility of Marine & Technical Operations activities. This role manages data and analytics for the Marine & Technical Operations Department aiming to drive operational improvements. The Senior Manager oversees processes and strategies to ensure successful communication and implementation of Marine & Technical Operations changes, while minimizing risk. The Sr. Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, technical teams, finance, Safety to ensure successful project execution, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement in operational efficiency.
Essential Functions:
Strategic Leadership & Operational Integration - Provide strategic leadership by integrating project administration, maritime analytics, and operational strategy to drive excellence across Marine & Technical Operations. Act as a trusted advisor to Marine & Technical Operations leadership, translating complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations that support strategic, operational, and risk‑based decisions.
Analytics, Reporting & Decision Support - Lead Marine & Technical Operations analytics and reporting, consolidating data from multiple teams into high‑quality insights that improve executive visibility, planning accuracy, and data‑driven decision‑making. Manage and continuously evolve data and analytics capabilities to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities that drive measurable operational outcomes.
Planning, Governance & Change Management - Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of planning, governance, and analytics processes to ensure Marine & Technical Operations changes are effectively communicated, implemented, and sustained. Provide strategic oversight of operational change and project execution, balancing analytical rigor with real‑world operational considerations to minimize risk and support timely delivery.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Project Enablement - Partner cross‑functionally with project managers, technical teams, finance, Safety, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of priorities, successful project execution, and consistent use of data in decision‑making. Enhance efficiency, communication, and transparency across Marine & Technical Operations by standardizing tools, data inputs, and reporting practices.
Continuous Improvement & Performance Optimization - Champion a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging analytics, performance metrics, and feedback loops to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and long‑term planning effectiveness. Strengthen governance, data quality, and reporting discipline to build organizational confidence in analytics and operational insights.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Scope: Leads a strategically significant function within Marine & Technical Operations, with accountability for integrating marine planning, analytics, project administration, and operational change support across a broad operational environment. The role operates with enterprise-facing reach across multiple functional areas, consolidating data, reporting, and planning inputs to improve visibility, coordination, and execution. Scope includes oversight of department-wide analytics, communication processes, implementation planning, and operational governance that support both ongoing operations and major initiatives.
Problem solving: Proactively identify opportunities within the project life cycle, for example, improve capital planning, headcount or resource approvals. Work with cross-functional teams to develop improved processes and tools for the marine and technical teams to effectively manage budgets, funding, and schedules. Develop solutions to resolve challenges with shipboard leadership teams.
Impact: Directly influences the effectiveness, efficiency, and risk management of Marine & Technical Operations by translating complex operational and analytical information into actionable business insight. The role improves executive visibility, supports higher-quality decision-making, strengthens cross-functional alignment, and enhances execution of operational changes and projects. Contributions affect planning accuracy, communication effectiveness, resource prioritization, and the successful implementation of initiatives that carry operational, financial, and service implications.
Leadership: Provides strategic and operational leadership through oversight of marine planning and analytics activities, establishing processes, frameworks, and standards that improve consistency, transparency, and execution across the function. Leads through influence across project managers, technical teams, finance, safety, and other stakeholders to drive alignment and accountability. The role guides priorities, fosters data-driven decision-making, supports adoption of change, and promotes continuous improvement across Marine & Technical Operations.
Qualifications:
This is a highly strategic and facilitative role that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, diplomacy, as well as a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role.
Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL)
Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., relational databases, data warehousing)
Experience with project management software
Excellent Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Experience with change management and implementation of new processes
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
8-10 years of experience in Marine Operations, Analytics, or a related field, with a focus on data management, analysis, and process improvement.
Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's preferred.
Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
