Job ID 10420 Date posted 04/08/2025 City Miami State FL Country United States Job Type Full TimeThe Product Owner is responsible for defining the product vision, prioritizing the product backlog, and ensuring the delivery of high-value features that enhance Carnival's B2B digital presence, drive automation and customer engagement on our GoCCL.com website. The role oversees all stages of product creation, from design to development, and works with all stakeholders to deliver updates and status reports. The Product Owner collaborates closely with stakeholders to understand business goals, market/in-house trends, and customer demands, and then communicates these to the development teams.
Essential Functions:
- Outline recommended product vision and strategy. Set overall direction and goals for the product to align with business objectives and customer needs, gaining clarity and alignment for all. Create and maintain the product roadmap as a result.
- Manage and prioritize backlog items based on business value, stakeholder feedback, and market/inhouse trends, ensuring the most valuable features are developed and/or technical issues are being handled according to expectations.
- Collaborate and engage with stakeholders (internal/external) to gather requirements, ensure alignment with the product vision, deployment dates, and address any concerns, facilitating effective communication and understanding. Provide updates to stakeholders and management on the product's performance and progress, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Communicate and meet with the development team and convey product goals, priorities, and requirements to gain alignment so they can execute the vision efficiently and effectively. Monitor the team’s progress, provide guidance, and ensure timely delivery of features, keeping the project on track and within scope. Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Lead agile meetings for continuous improvement and alignment with the product vision, fostering a culture of learning and adaptation.
- Review and approve user stories and acceptance criteria. Ensure user stories and acceptance criteria meet quality standards and are ready for development, maintaining high standards for the product.
- Ensure the final product delivers maximum value. Oversee the final product to ensure it meets the needs of the end-users and delivers maximum value, achieving high customer satisfaction and business success. Create final training assets.
- Analyze market/inhouse trends and feedback. Identify opportunities for product enhancements based on this review to meet the user needs.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in product management or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices. Hands-on experience in website development and digital product management.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is required.
- Master's preferred
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) is a plus, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Leverage Microsoft Office Suite tools.
- Utilize web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development frameworks.
- Apply UX/UI design principles to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience.
- Understand software development and collaboration processes, including Agile methodologies and Scrum practices. Tools such as Microsoft Azure, Figma or similar.
- Manage product management and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, UA, similar platforms.
- Operate content management systems like Sitecore or similar platforms.
- Create and manage product training guides with related technology solutions.
- Leverage customer relationship management (CRM) systems and internal database applications.
- Ability to provide recommended technical guidance to ensure the product meets quality standards and delivers maximum value.
- Familiarity with web technologies, UX/UI design principles, and software development processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess market/inhouse trends, customer feedback, and business needs. Ability to translate insights into actionable product requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey product vision, goals, and priorities. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage conflicts, and drive consensus.
- A deep understanding of business needs and the ability to advocate for the end-user experience.
- Strong project management skills to oversee the product development lifecycle, ensure timely delivery, and manage resources effectively.
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration skills to work closely with business stakeholders, external vendors, developers, designers, and other team members.
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: No or very little travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
