Cunard is one of the oldest and most famous ocean liners in the world. This is a hybrid position, based in our Miami office.

As Marketing Manager you’ll be responsible for the direction and execution of all North America consumer and trade/travel advisor marketing communications, including all collateral, sales marketing tools, all direct mail, and all email marketing. You’ll also lead advanced email journey strategy, personalization initiatives, and behavioral-based engagement programs. Strong knowledge of email trends, hyper-customization, and tools such as Movable Ink is essential.

Responsibilities 

  • Strategy, Development and Growth

    • Conceptualization, planning, and management of consumer and trade marketing strategies, including short-term and long-term tactics designed to meet strategic business objectives, supported by measurable performance indicators.

    • Identify growth opportunities for the brand in North America that align with commercial objectives.

    • Implement Cunard-led brand work curated by the Carnival UK Brand Marketing team, ensuring proper translation for the North American market. Lead execution across direct mail, email marketing, and trade web channels through Marketing Specialists and the Marketing Coordinator.

    • Implement prospecting strategies to expand Cunard’s database. Develop retention and win-back strategies grounded in lifecycle email marketing, behavior-based triggers, and personalized customer journeys.

    • Develop and execute plans to achieve digital traffic and revenue targets.

    • Build growth strategies across offline, online, CRM, and sales channels.

    • Partner with the Marketing Director on business plans and business cases for broader Carnival UK alignment.

    • Initiate, negotiate, and manage contracts with agencies, technology partners, and vendors—including email personalization and dynamic content partners such as Movable Ink—to support strategic and operational needs. This includes liaising with internal legal and privacy teams to ensure proper review of all contracts and campaigns where required.

  • Digital and Print Communications

    • Manage the strategy, creative development, testing, reporting, and execution of digital and print communications, including:

      • Email, e-tools, launch planning, video production, direct mail, collateral, promotional tools, event materials, and trade website support.

      • Work closely with ESP and eServices vendors, and Sales/Marketing teams to develop targeted communication strategies for past guests, prospects, and trade.

      • Lead the development of personalized email journeys across the customer lifecycle, using segmentation, dynamic content, and hyper-customization to improve engagement and conversion.

      • Oversee and optimize automated email programs, including onboarding, re-engagement, abandonment, pre-cruise, and post-cruise campaigns.

      • Drive A/B and multivariate testing for email and digital assets, ensuring insights feed into ongoing optimization.

      • Champion best-in-class email experience practices, including accessibility, deliverability, and evolving industry standards.

      • Implement dynamic content and real-time personalization tools (such as Movable Ink) to enhance relevance and drive incremental revenue.

      • Lead development of marketing conversion programs targeting past guests and prospects, including third-party list initiatives and hand-raiser programs.

  • Field Sales Support, Trade Events & Promotions

    • Manage the Trade Marketing Specialist to expand trade support tools, including Co-Op initiatives, Trade Advertising, and Training. Oversee Salesforce Marketing Cloud setup and implementation. Support Field Sales, Trade Events, and promotions with targeted digital and print communications and needed marketing materials. 

    • Ensure trade communications adopt the same personalized and data-driven approach as consumer channels, improving engagement and sales productivity.

    • Develop training content strategy collaborating with the Academy training Coordinator and ensure the execution and delivery of content across trade platforms.

  • Analysis and Optimization

    • Develop actionable analysis, including competitor reviews, benchmarking, brand tracking, direct marketing performance, and A/B testing.

    • Work closely with the BI Manager and Digital Analyst to evaluate performance, uncover insights, and implement data-driven improvements across email, direct marketing, and digital channels.

    • Partner with the Carnival UK insights team to enhance propensity modeling and drive efficiencies that improve eDM and CRM outcomes.

    • Review and optimize the customer journey across pre-booking, booking, pre-cruise, and post-cruise stages, ensuring personalized, data-driven touchpoints throughout.

    • Drive enhancements to Cunard’s Customer Database platform to support advanced segmentation, dynamic personalization, automated journeys, and CRM growth initiatives.

    • Develop self-sufficient reporting tools and templates with support from the Marketing Specialist, Marketing Coordinator, and Analyst

  • Relationship and Project Management

    • Manage relationships across internal teams including Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Revenue Management, and Public Relations.

    • Lead strategic relationships with creative, CRM, and personalization agencies to ensure efficient and high-performing output.

    • Set KPIs and development plans for Marketing Specialists aligned with commercial and CRM goals.

    • Oversee end-to-end execution of marketing plans across retail, brand, trade, and CRM channels.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing management or communications in either a corporate setting or agency. 
  • 5+ years of project management experience. 
  • 5+ years of people management experience.
  • Experience in evaluating Direct mail and Email plans and creative, and managing external agencies
  • Understanding of and experience with creative design, print/press production processes, and digital email production processes.
  • Strong understanding of and previous experience with marketing financial management – budgets, accruals and forecasting. 
  • Previous experience managing Direct Marketing and CRM programs.
  • Understanding of strategic marketing principles and tactics across consumer, trade, retail and brand and proven application.
  • Proven experience in brand building.
  • Demonstrated ability to project manage multiple stakeholders to deliver common objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively across management, cross-functional teams, agencies, and creative partners.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple programs, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, resolve complex issues, and present findings clearly and confidently.
  • Copy editing proficiency to ensure accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency across all communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced PowerPoint and presentation design skills.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multichannel marketing programs from strategy through execution.
  • Hands-on experience developing and optimizing email journeys, lifecycle programs, and behavioral-triggered campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of personalization strategies, segmentation, dynamic content, and hyper-customized email experiences.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Direct experience evaluating email creative, deliverability considerations, testing plans, and performance metrics.
  • Practical experience using dynamic content or email personalization technologies (Movable Ink strongly preferred).
  • Ability to lead integration and execution of real-time content and hyper-customized campaign strategies.
  • Proven experience managing direct mail and email production workflows, including creative evaluation, copy review, and coordination with external agencies.
  • Strong understanding of creative design and digital/print production processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze performance data, identify insights, and translate findings into actionable improvements.
  • Experience partnering with BI teams, digital analysts, or data specialists to optimize targeting, segmentation, and campaign outcomes.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (A/B, multivariate) and measurement of CRM and digital programs.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management, PR, and external agencies.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, tight timelines, and large cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or directly managing team members.
  • Tableau, Adobe Analytics experience (preferred).
