The Manager, Ethics and Compliance is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s ethics and compliance programs for shipboard and shoreside, across NA brands. This role involves identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting on compliance risks, ensuring clear accountabilities, and promoting a strong commitment to ethical conduct across the organization. The Manager will work closely with business areas, the Global Ethics & Compliance (E&C) team, and leadership to foster transparency, accountability, and a culture of compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of compliance regulations, the ability to foster a culture of integrity and a strong background in compliance, risk management, and leadership within a global organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Directs the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of compliance risks.  Manages the internal hotline complaint mechanism - receives, documents, evaluates and monitors reports of alleged noncompliance, via the compliance hotline, or by other various means, to final resolution. Promotes and drives continuous improvements in reporting, identification and resolution analysis for the various ethics and compliance programs.       

  • Leads a team of two direct reports and reports directly to the Director, Ethics and Compliance.  Will provide coaching and effective feedback to team members in managing a high performing team.  Will develop and provide training as needed to continuously improve analytical and reporting skills.

  • Develops and maintains internal policies and guidelines and ensures business adherence through ongoing monitoring and oversight. Ensures clear compliance accountabilities and responsibilities across the organization - both shipboard and shoreside across all NA brands.                                                                     

  • Collaborates with business areas to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and internal processes.  Prepares periodic progress reports on the status of ethics and compliance programs, including both narrative explanations and deeper root cause analysis.  Prepares and reports regular updates to management and board-level committees, including identification of risk areas and possible liability mitigation.

  • Co-chairs the Ethics & Compliance Committee (e.g., scheduling, agenda preparation, meeting minutes, presentation).  As needed, presents the E&C department’s in-person orientation as part of the new employee onboarding process, and updates the presentation when necessary. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Public Policy, or related field. 

  • Certification in compliance or ethics (e.g., CCEP, CCEP-I) preferred or employee is willing to obtain the CCEP/ CCEP-I certification (or equivalent) within the first year of employment.

  • Minimum 3-5 years in ethics, compliance, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven experience managing compliance programs in a global or multi-brand environment. Experience managing direct reports and developing team capabilities.   

  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g., anti-corruption, anti-trust, ADA, data privacy)

  • Experience managing confidential reporting mechanisms and conducting thorough investigations

  • Familiarity with compliance training, reporting, and metrics generation for executive audiences

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
