Job ID 10950 Date posted 07/08/2025 City Miami State FL Country United States Job Type Full TimeThe Sr Specialist, IT Logistics is responsible for coordinating and organizing activities in accordance with the ship loading schedule to ensure timely onboard delivery of equipment and project completions. This position collaborates closely with vendors and contractors, managing logistics and timelines to facilitate efficient operations and adherence to predetermined schedules. This position is instrumental in implementing and adhering to compliance standards and security measures throughout the shipping and receiving processes. This role is pivotal in ensuring the IT department operates smoothly and efficiently, supporting internal operations and external customer service objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee and maintain the loading schedule for each ship, ensuring all activities are planned according to operational timelines. Conduct thorough checks on all equipment designated for shipment. Wrap, weigh, and process pallets or cases, preparing them for loading according to the specific requirements of each ship. Ensure all items are ready and meet the requirements before the scheduled dispatch. Efficiently process equipment for loading based on daily schedules, ensuring accurate and timely handling.
- Maintain regular communication with the IT Officer and Project Manager to report and discuss any significant occurrences or updates related to loading operations.
- Oversee the reception of incoming offloads and direct them to the appropriate bins or pallets scheduled for outgoing shipment to ships.
- Promptly respond to all incoming emails from ships and project managers, ensuring timely communication and resolution of inquiries or issues.
- Close pending or open cases related to equipment and supplies, ensuring all are resolved or escalated as necessary. Review and respond to each case or request from ships concerning equipment needs, ensuring timely fulfillment.
- Monitor and report on low inventory items, ensuring that stock levels are maintained to meet the operational demands of the ships.
- Effectively communicate with warehouse personnel and loading individuals to coordinate and streamline operations.
- Acquire proficiency in the system used by Transcor, the warehouse provider, to enhance operational efficiency and integration.
- Manage vendor relationships to maintain high standards of service and reliability. Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years IT and logistics or supply chain management, preferably within IT required
- 1+ years in the cruise and/or travel industry preferred.
- Forklift Certification (OSHA) upon hire preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to manage logistics software systems and technology related to inventory and shipment tracking.
- Solid knowledge of IT equipment and familiarity with a wide range of IT programs
- Skilled in operating heavy machinery for moving and wrapping pallets.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Excellent skills in critical thinking, creative problem solving, and root cause analysis.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and deadlines for self and while coaching others.
- Analytical and detailed oriented with a strong business sense for self and while coaching others.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and help others prioritize, and achieve effective results.
- Excellent communication, team building, conflict management, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable doing business across various teams while collaborating with professionals with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Proven track record of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and drive results.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to quickly learn and teach new technologies and concepts.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds

Work Conditions: Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. Work entails working in both an office and warehouse environment. The warehouse will reach high temperatures during the summer months.
This position is classified as “in-office.” Because of the nature of the role, employees are required to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida five days each week. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
