Job Description


This is a corporate position for a Financial Planning System Administrator. The candidate will have an administrator role in the operation of Financial System – Hyperion Planning/Essbase. This position requires an individual with a strong background supporting the Oracle Hyperion Planning/Essbase system, adhoc smartview queries, outline maintenance, system configuration. The role would include development and support of HFR reports, Calc scripts, Business Rules, MaxL scripts, Planning Forms, etc. 

Primary responsibilities include application administration for Financial Planning Systems as required.  This involves maintenance of global setups, reporting, and supporting global aspects of the systems. 

This position is responsible for the support of users and providing guidance. Responsibilities include validating systems work well with implementation changes while maintaining controls, security, and consistency in system processes.   

Secondary responsibilities include oversight and review of system internal controls, oversight and coordination of testing, implementation of new system functionality, and coordination with other teams for system maintenance. 
The administrator will perform as a contact point for user testing and will assist in the development and management of project plans for application upgrades and ongoing implementations. The effort includes analyzing business needs and applying technology through application configuration, implementation of new functionality or software, and process improvement.   

Essential Functions:

  • Support the Incident resolution for issues reported by end users, and support processing of change requests with third party support team.     
  • Working with Business users to gather and document business/data requirements for applications. Coordinate and facilitate design sessions with key business users. 
  • Develop design specifications and unit test plans, and manage functional administration of Hyperion Planning/Essbase/related application components; 
  • Support system monitoring, and perform daily and other periodic maintenance activities for existing applications.   
  • Assist management in providing work direction and technical guidance to analysts supporting the application   
  • Assist in patching and upgrade activities
  • Provide User Access reports as needed, while maintaining controls, security and consistency in system processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS/Engineering/Technology or related field
  • 3+ years of experience with direct, hands-on design, implementation, extended maintenance and support experience of Oracle Hyperion Planning/Essbase and related applications   
  • The candidate should be willing to learn administration on other Financial Planning Systems and provide assistance to other team members

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong Essbase Administration skills, experience in writing business rules, calc scripts, forms/Task list etc.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel: No or very little travel likely

The range for this role’s base salary is $51,600 - $95,000.  Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
