This role will be responsible for staying up to date on current social media trends and will execute effective marketing strategies to increase brand awareness in the entertainment industry.
Essential Functions:
- Program, Operations, Support & Innovation:
- Social Media: Maintain Carnival Entertainment’s social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, with a focus on recruiting and brand awareness. Utilize user-generated content and create original content while actively engaging with the online community. Contribute in strategic planning of targeted paid social media advertising campaigns focusing on geographic locations and personal interests. Utilize data analytics to identify and reach the desired audience, optimizing ad performance to achieve maximum engagement.
- Brand Awareness: Maintain a comprehensive and consistent brand and marketing voice across all social media channels, ensuring that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives are integrated and upheld in all content and interactions.
- Content Library: Enhance Carnival Entertainment’s content library in the internal brand center portal with an extensive and diverse collection of photos and videos that showcase Carnival’s entertainment offerings and team members. Shoot and edit new content to meet current
- Teamwork:
- Environment: This position will actively engage in weekly team meetings and quarterly in-person Entertainment Department Town Hall meetings to ensure alignment with overall brand goals and to encourage collaboration. The Social Media Specialist will partner with various Entertainment departments and the Carnival Cruise Line Communications team to develop and execute social media campaigns that enhance brand awareness and engagement.
- Cultural Essentials: Live Carnival’s expected behaviors, such as speaking up, respecting, and protecting, improving, communicating, listening and learning, and empowering. Encourage team members to share their insights, challenges, and suggestions to enhance collaboration and operational success, while proactively resolving conflicts.
- Collaborate:
- Talent Recruitment: Collaborate with the Casting & Booking team to develop and maintain a social media calendar that supports current recruiting needs. Ensure timely sharing of auditions, recruiting events, and other relevant content to maximize engagement and reach.
- Content Production: Partner with the Video Production Team to organize and schedule production shoots for marketing and social media materials. This includes coordinating logistics for both shoreside and shipboard shoots, ensuring all necessary resources and personnel are available to produce high-quality content that aligns with Carnival Entertainment’s branding and marketing goals.
- Compliance:
- Brand Guidelines: The Entertainment Marketing Specialist is responsible for promoting the Carnival Entertainment brand by maintaining our social media channels. This role involves staying up to date on current social media trends that align with the company's established brand guidelines. Other responsibilities include maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all content adheres to branding guidelines, and regularly reviewing these SOPs to maintain compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Program Evaluation:
- KPI: Track and analyze social media KPI, overall engagement, and campaign performance relative to total spend. Utilize Sprinklr and Linktree analytics to develop strategies for improving future results, ensuring data-driven decision-making and continuous optimization of marketing efforts.
- Financial Accountability:
- Plan: Track basic financial details of targeted social media content, considering overall costs and return on investment. Provide recommendations on optimizing social media funding to maximize engagement and effectiveness.
- Travel and Expense: Responsible for managing their own travel arrangements and expenses in accordance with Carnival Cruise Line's travel policies and procedures. This includes submitting expense reports in a timely manner. The Team Member will ensure that all travel arrangements are cost-effective and compliant.

Qualifications:
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft 365 office products. Database experience is preferred.
- Specialty Platform Experience: Expert knowledge of social media software/analytics and graphic design programs. Basic proficiency in video editing tools.
- 2-4 years working in marketing, with an emphasis in digital and social media

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: No or very little travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
