The Director, Information Technology Finance serves as the strategic and operational leader for all financial management activities supporting Global Technology Solutions (GTS) and the IT organizations of Holland America Line, Seabourn, and Holland America Princess Alaska Tours (HAP), while also influencing financial governance across all nine Carnival Corporation brands. This role is accountable for the full lifecycle of IT financial planning and analysis—including OPEX, CAPEX, cost allocations, project financials, asset management, and longrange strategic planning—ensuring that IT investments are optimized, transparent, and aligned with enterprise priorities. As the principal architect of the longterm IT financial strategy, the director partners closely with senior executives, brand leadership, and crossfunctional teams to shape the financial direction of the corporation’s technology portfolio. The role leads the development of annual strategic and operating plans, oversees quarterly forecasting cycles, and drives financial rigor across all IT cost centers. This includes ensuring that funding is deployed effectively, financial controls are maintained, and decisionmakers have clear, datadriven insights to guide prioritization and resource allocation. The director is responsible for establishing and enforcing strong financial governance, including internal controls and SOX compliance, while also championing continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and systems. The role oversees projectbased financial administration, total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling, KPI measurement, and the maintenance of financial tools such as Daptiv or equivalent platforms. A key focus is driving cost efficiency and savings initiatives across GTS and ensuring consistent financial practices across brands and operating companies. In addition to strategic responsibilities, the director provides daytoday leadership to a growing IT Finance team, currently consisting of a manager and senior analyst. The role fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development, ensuring the team delivers highquality analysis, timely reporting, and exceptional business partnership. The director also plays a visible role in communicating financial insights and plan deliverables to senior leadership, including Brand Presidents and executive management, requiring strong executive presence and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations. This position is critical to ensuring that Carnival Corporation’s technology investments are financially sound, strategically aligned, and managed with discipline—ultimately enabling the corporation to deliver innovative, efficient, and costeffective technology solutions across its global portfolio.

Responsibilities:

IT Financial Strategy & Governance

  • Lead the development, ownership, and execution of the longterm IT financial strategy across all brands and operating companies.

  • Ensure IT funding is allocated appropriately, aligned with strategic priorities, and managed with strong financial discipline.

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls, including SOXrelated controls, in partnership with Accounting.

  • Drive transparency and accuracy across all IT cost centers, ensuring consistent financial practices and reporting standards.

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Direct the annual strategic plan, longrange plan, and operating plan processes for IT, ensuring alignment across brands and corporate stakeholders.

  • Lead quarterly forecast cycles, consolidating departmental inputs, identifying variances, and providing actionable insights to senior leadership.

  • Manage OPEX and CAPEX planning, reporting, and performance monitoring for GTS and all IT cost centers.

  • Oversee cost allocation methodologies and execution for all nine brands and operating companies.

Project & Asset Financial Management

  • Provide financial ownership and oversight for IT projects, including business case development, financial modeling, and ROI analysis.

  • Lead project financial administration, monitoring, and assessment to ensure accurate capitalization, expense treatment, and lifecycle reporting.

  • Manage assetbased financial reporting and total cost of ownership (TCO) metrics, including tools such as Daptiv (or equivalent).

  • Deliver KPI measurement, dashboarding, and performance reporting to support executive decisionmaking.

Cost Optimization & Process Improvement

  • Identify, lead, and track cost efficiency and savings initiatives across all GTS IT cost centers.

  • Continuously evaluate and streamline financial processes, leveraging automation and best practices to improve accuracy and cycle times.

  • Provide adhoc financial analysis, modeling, and scenario planning to support strategic and operational decisionmaking.

  • Champion continuous improvement in planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.

Leadership, Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team consisting of a manager and senior analyst, fostering a culture of teamwork, learning, and accountability.

  • Engage with senior executives—including Brand Presidents and corporate leadership—to communicate financial insights, plan assumptions, and strategic recommendations.

  • Build strong relationships with operational departments, IT leadership, and Finance partners across all brands.

  • Coordinate planning calendars, deliverables, and communication to ensure alignment and consistency across the enterprise.

The director must anticipate financial challenges, model scenarios, and provide clear options to senior leadership to support informed decisionmaking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, Master's degree preferred.

  • 15+ years Finance/Accounting experience.

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible managerial experience.

  • Retail / hospitality businesses is a plus but not required.

  • Advanced Financial Modeling and Excel skills.

  • Ability to prepare and present financial analysis to a non-finance audience. 

  • High attention to detail.

  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.

  • Experience evaluating and improving financial processes.

  • Microsoft BI, Hyperion, Oracle Financials Experience.

  • Ability to develop, communicate, and facilitate budget and forecast processes.

  • Able to work with and solicit cooperation from individuals in a variety of roles.

  • Ability to influence business decisions by effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and presentation of options and alternatives

  • Ability to prepare and present financial analysis to a non-finance audience.

Travel: No or very little travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential..

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

This position is classified as “in-office.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays.

  • Base Salary Range: $136,200 to $183,900 The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidate’s qualifications and experience uniquely.
