We are looking for an amazing Director, Hull & Structure to fill this role, which is based in our Doral office. This role is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance of the fleet’s hull, structure, tanks, and deck machinery. It involves collaboration across shipboard and shoreside teams and has a broad impact on fleet operations and availability.

Responsibilities
Lead the development and lifecycle management of hull coating systems across the fleet.
Monitor hull performance metrics, including biofouling and drag, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Research and evaluate advanced coating technologies for implementation on the fleet.
Design and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy for hulls, superstructures, tanks, and structural components.
Oversee crack monitoring programs, corrosion control, and structural integrity assessments.
Ensure alignment with safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance standards.
Collaborate with Technical Operations Directors, Chief Engineers, and Staff Captains to develop R&M, drydock, and capital budgets.
Provide cost-benefit analyses and ROI assessments for major repair and upgrade projects.
Ensure budget adherence and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Develop detailed steel repair specifications and oversee execution during drydock periods.
Lead multidisciplinary teams through planning, procurement, execution, and post-project evaluation.
Ensure timely delivery, quality control, and compliance with classification society requirements.
Maintains regular communication with the Ship’s staff (CE’s & Staff Captains) regarding hull, structure, tanks, and deck machinery to ensure departmental objectives and initiatives are met.
Collaborates with classification societies to ensure all vessels and modifications comply with applicable passenger vessel regulations, while overseeing the submission and approval of documentation—either directly or through designated third-party vendors.
Drive initiatives to improve hull and propulsion efficiency, including propeller performance and hull form optimization.
Lead cross-functional efforts to enhance biofouling control strategies and coating application standards.
Evaluate emerging technologies and practices to improve fleet sustainability and performance.
Travel as needed to support project development, vendor qualification, and on-site execution.
Conduct inspections, audits, and performance reviews of third-party contractors and suppliers.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key industry partners.
Requirements
Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent experience.
10 Years of experience as a Naval Architect with emphasis on ship structures, hull coatings, and tank systems.
Strong understanding of corrosion protection, coatings technology, and drydock practices.
Familiarity with class rules, IMO conventions, and international ship repair standards.
Proficiency in CAD and structural analysis tools.
This position is considered Hybrid and follows the Company’s schedule of three days in the office per week (Tuesday – Thursday)
