Key Details:

Hybrid Program: This internship is a hybrid program based in Miami, Florida. Students must be available for the entire duration of the program and willing to work a hybrid schedule, combining both in-office and remote work. This is a full-time opportunity, with interns working 40 hours per week. While hours may vary, interns can expect to work from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. 

Relocation Support: Carnival provides housing for interns who are relocating to Miami for the summer. 

Eligibility: Juniors, seniors, and graduate students are preferred for the program. 

Technical Requirements: Interns will be provided with a company-issued laptop and will need reliable internet when working remotely.

Department Summary 

The Architectural Projects team is responsible for planning and executing architectural and construction projects across Carnival Corporation’s fleet and facilities. We ensure that all design elements meet brand standards and operational needs, contributing to the overall guest experience and company success. 

Internship Project Summary 

Project Title: Visual Planning and Stakeholder Collaboration
Objective: Under the general direction of the Senior Program Manager, manages a wide range of project related tasks supporting the Carnival Corp Global Ports & Destinations Development (GPDD) organization and projects portfolio. As a Design Intern, you will support the planning, execution, and management of new projects from start to finish, working closely with the senior program manager to ensure that projects meet established quality, schedule, and budgetary goals. This role involves coordination with cross-functional teams, monitoring of project activities, and maintaining communication with stakeholders.  Under this position, the intern will help with the creation of graphic presentation material to support the development of design ideas. This position will be a part of the Carnival Corporation Global Ports and Destinations Development (GPDD) team, which is responsible for the development and operations of our six existing Carnival-owned destinations in the Caribbean: Grand Turk (Turks and Caicos), Mahogany Bay (Roatan, Honduras), Puerta Maya (Cozumel, Mexico), Amber Cove (Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic), Half Moon Cay (Little San Salvador, The Bahamas), and Princess Cays (Eleuthera, The Bahamas); as well as for new exciting developments in Celebration Key at Grand Bahamas, Half Moon Cay at Little San Salvador, and several others. 

Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities) 

Assist in the development of visual materials for design presentations. 

Support project planning activities including timelines and documentation. 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather input. 

Help organize project information and maintain detailed records. 

Participate in team meetings and contribute to design discussions. 

Learning Outcomes 

Gain hands-on experience in architectural design and project planning. 

Develop skills in visual communication and stakeholder collaboration. 

Learn how design and construction contribute to the hospitality experience. 

Specific Qualifications 

Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. 

Preferred Experience: Coursework or experience in architecture, design, or construction. 

Technical: Familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Adobe Creative Suite.
