The Coordinator, Business Development and Sales Administration will support efforts related to Travel Agents and potential accounts to drive sales & marketing engagement and development opportunities. This role works to support Travel Agents and Charters, Meetings & Incentives existing and potential accounts in 1:1 contact through phone calls, emails and Facebook comments/posts. The representative is also responsible for developing ongoing best practices and optimizing tools to support the broader Sales & Trade Marketing teams in response to Travel Agent engagement needs.

Job Functions:

  • Service incoming calls from external (Travel Agents, existing and future accounts) and internal (Sales and Trade Marketing teams, other CCL areas) stakeholders in a timely manner with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Handle designated emails with the appropriate tone and in accordance with outlined service levels (e.g. similar topics/requestor to phone calls). Support comments/inquiries on the teams' social media page.
  • Create edit, merge, close and maintain agency profiles in various system platforms in accordance with Sales & Trade Marketing policies.
  • Properly maintain an accurate and detailed agency database for Sales Teams interacting within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application.
  • Identify key indicators reflecting Travel Agents' interest to opt into working with a designated Sales Representative (i.e. booking a group that has potential, unique marketing opportunity); escalates to the Sales Team accordingly.
  • Reconcile department invoices and processes payment/supplier requests within the internal Accounts Payable systems in accordance to Budget Guidelines

Qualifications:

  • High school or GED.  3+ years experience in sales, customer service or related field.
  • Knowledge of cruise industry preferred.  Experience working with sales teams valuable. Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. Independent problem solver. Passion for success with a willingness to learn. 
  • Ability to make sound decisions, at moments with conflicting time demands

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Allocate budget within competing priorities.  Consolidate sales team feedback to develop a cohesive event strategy. Negotiate with vendors/partners to deliver events and programs at/under budget.
  • Interacts with travel agency partners of all sizes and model-types.   Often acts as first point-of-contact with customers and Carnival.  Responsible for touchpoints across a portfolio of 10K+ accounts.
  • No direct reports. 

Physical Demands:  Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel:  None or very little travel likely.

Work Conditions: Work beyond normal business hours or on weekends may be required occasionally to support business needs, projects, or operations.

This position is classified as “in-office.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
