We are looking for an amazing Design & Art Lead to fill this role, which is based in our Doral office. The Design & Art Lead at Princess Cruises is a dynamic leadership role within our in-house creative department, demanding a creative visionary with strong leadership skills, a keen eye for design, and a passion for innovation. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including high-level concept development, brand support, graphic design, design supervision, project management, and process optimization. This person will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of our brand across various digital and print channels, supporting direct-to-consumer and travel agent communications materials. Moreover, this role will explore innovative ways to harness AI to automate content creation and streamline design processes, driving efficiencies and enhancing creative output.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the ideation and development of high-level creative concepts and strategies that align with the brand's vision and objectives. 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of marketing strategy and its application to design; understand messaging hierarchies, where a piece sits in the customer funnel, and what information the customer wants and needs at any given point in the journey. 
  • Take ownership of design briefs, reviewing them critically and asking the right questions, demonstrating a clear understanding of campaign objectives, and answering the briefs to a high strategic and conceptual standard with design that resonates with a given audience. 
  • Collaborate with copywriting and other design teams to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts and co-direct teams to produce quality work for marketing campaigns, promotions, and brand initiatives across various digital and print marketing channels, including but not limited to emails, direct mail, newsletters, flyers, signage, digital display advertising, print advertising, logos and other branding. 
  • Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends to inform creative strategies.
  • Ensure the brand's visual identity and messaging consistency across all materials and channels. 
  • Willing to be a brand evangelist, ensuring expressions of the brand for marketing and sales are well-defined and consistent as well as evolve/expand the design direction and tactics to continually (re)align with business objectives. 
  • Collaborate with brand management teams to evolve and enhance the brand's visual identity. 
  • Provide creative direction and guidance to team members and external partners to maintain brand consistency.                                                                 
  • Lead and participate in the creation of visually compelling designs for both digital and print collateral. 
  • Hands-on design work, including the creation of marketing materials, advertisements, and promotional assets. 
  • Review and critique team member designs, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Work with ad agencies assigned to the Princess brand. Stay up to date with design software and tools, implementing new techniques and best practices.
  • Effectively manage multiple creative projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are allocated efficiently. 
  • Work with project managers and creative director to ensure that schedules are accurate and realistic and that deadlines are met. 
  • Manage design and creative deliverables to schedule, including internal milestones and freelance and vendor milestones.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize creative processes and workflows, leveraging technology and automation. 
  • Explore and implement AI-driven solutions to automate content creation and design tasks. 
  • Continuously assess and improve creative processes to enhance efficiency and creativity. 
  • Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to integrate new technologies and tools into the workflow.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a creative role within an advertising agency, in-house creative department, or related industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Advertising, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience. 
  • Knowledge of design trends, graphic design, brand/identity development, digital illustration, UI/UX principles, and best practices. 
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and digital design tools such as Adobe XD and Figma.
  • Experience managing a creative team and delivering projects on time and within budget. 
  • This position is considered Hybrid and follows the Company’s schedule of three days in the office per week (Tuesday – Thursday)
