The Analyst, Fuel Performance & Decarbonization plays a key role in supporting fuel demand planning and sustainability initiatives. This position focuses on Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) and contributes in the development of modeling tools and delivering data-driven insights to predict fleet-wide fuel consumption and bunkering demands. The analyst also supports the preparation of fuel consumption reports in compliance with international regulatory standards and vessel-specific Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plans (SEEMP), helping ensure operational transparency and environmental accountability.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in developing fuel budgets, consumption forecasts, and short- and long-term fuel lift plans to optimize bunkering schedules and reduce costs across the CCL fleet.

  • Support in the implementation of advanced modelling tools to further streamline fuel demand planning process.

  • Provide support in updating monitoring plans including SEEMP Part I, Part II, EU / UK MRV and FuelEU as well as regulatory fuel consumption reporting.

  • Track actuals vs. forecast and prepare variance reports for operations and finance.

  • Assist with fuel tax exemption certificates and other ad-hoc tasks as per department needs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering, Engineering, Finance or Business Management.

  • 1-2 years of experience in relevant role i.e. energy management, marine operations, fuel & energy consumption.

  • 1-2 years of experience in marine / shipboard operations role preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Numerical modeling tools, Asset management software. 

  • Knowledge of marine fuels & bunkering operations. 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Coding background in Python or any other language is a plus. 

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills. 

  • Experience with marine asset management software.

Physical Demands:Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel:Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
