The Analyst, Deployment Optimization plays a critical role in shaping fleet deployment strategies across more than 1,800 annual cruises. This position supports the optimization of homeports, itineraries, and cruise durations to maximize Itinerary Gross Profit (IGP), aligning with both financial and guest experience goals.

Leveraging advanced analytics, pricing science, and competitive intelligence, the analyst develops and enhances dashboards and models to monitor deployment performance. The role requires strong collaboration across departments—including Revenue Management, Marine Operations, and Hotel Services—to ensure strategic alignment and operational feasibility. Success in this role demands a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and cross-functional communication.

Job Functions:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of revenue, cost, and competitive data to support deployment planning.

  • Develop Tableau dashboards and Excel models to visualize deployment performance and support decision-making.

  • Use SQL and SAS to extract and manipulate large datasets for scenario modeling and performance evaluation.

  • Collaborate with Revenue Management, Marine Operations, and Hotel Services to align deployment strategies with business objectives.

  • Prepare clear, data-driven presentations and reports to support senior leadership decision-making.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Collaborates with both Shoreside and Shipboard.

  • Involves complex analysis of large data sets from a variety of sources. The analyst must anticipate seasonal demand shifts, port constraints, and competitive dynamics. Strategic mindset is needed to see how decisions impact various stakeholders and metrics, since deployment decisions can affect numerous teams across the company. Expertise in data analysis tools such as SQL, SAS, Excel, and data visualization platforms like Tableau.

  • Role has impact across many functional teams, as decisions affect numerous facets and teams within the company.

  • No direct reports. Requires strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and the ability to influence through data storytelling, project ownership, and stakeholder alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus. 

  • Preferred: Expertise in data analysis tools such as SQL, SAS, Excel, and data visualization platforms like Tableau. Strong business acumen, with the ability to balance analytical rigor and strategic thinking. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience with cruise industry data, port operations, or itinerary planning tools is a plus.

  • 3+ years of experience in strategy, analytics, or operations, preferably in travel, transportation, or consulting.

Physical Demands:  Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel:  None or very little travel.

Work Conditions:Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.


This position is classified as “in-office.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
