Job Summary:

  • Recruitment Coordinator will support the Recruitment Supervisor in all aspects of high-volume recruitment and onboarding needs for GG shipboard employment through the entire cycle - from sourcing the most suitable talent, through candidate screening and hiring, to processing through due diligence and onboarding all new hires and rehires - ensuring each holds all relevant valid documentation to join a vessel. S/he will liaise with our hiring partners and potential hires through various avenues of online platforms, ATS, social media and mailbox/es. Independently conduct application screening, video reviews and face to face pre-screening of prospective candidates.

    Represent GG as the agent and efficiently liaise with applicants to ensure queries are presented and responses are received in a timely manner to assist new hires through the due diligence and onboarding processes

Essential Functions:

1. Assist Recruitment Supervisor with candidate selection to successfully meet the changing demands of the organization:

  • Assess candidate skill/s and suitability for GG shipboard employment through website applications and/or resumes based on qualifying casino (or related) industry.
  • Ensure data is processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide accurate correspondence, file notes, interview, and selection documentation throughout all recruitment processes, storing all data in line with Carnival’s data protection regulations.

2. Meet recruitment quotas in:

  • Screening applications in online platforms, ATS, social media and mailbox/es to identify qualifications, evaluate experience and skills, and determine eligibility for shipboard role.
  • Evaluating recorded videos to assess personality, English language capability and character traits to determine suitability for shipboard employment.
  • Conducting interviews with prospective candidates and educate on the reality of life and work onboard.  Discussion to include GG expectations, promotion prospects (where applicable) and safety matters.                                                                                                                   
  • Communicate in a highly professional and positive manner and possess working knowledge of shipboard environment, recruitment process and respective policies and procedures to properly educate prospective new hire of expectations and timelines

3. Evaluate past shipboard casino employee performance to determine eligibility for rehire. Recognize & prioritize candidate/s with specific skill set for final audience with appropriate Operations management to discuss specific skills and determine validity of experience. Follow through with job offers or rejections for all 

4. Participate in media campaigns across various online platforms and social media networks as needed.

5. Represent GG by acting as the hiring partner, where applicable, and efficiently process direct hires through all stages of employment, due diligence verifications and onboarding checks.

  • Communicate effectively to answer specific questions in relation to employment background checks, medicals, visas, and travel documentation preparation

6. Maintain accurate correspondence, file notes, interview, and selection documentation throughout all recruitment processes, storing all data in line with Carnival’s data protection regulations. Perform prompt appraisal of due diligence reviews and employment verifications (including telephone calls to external businesses to validate references. Execute accurate and timely inspection of onboarding documentation.

7. Weekly administrative correlation of candidate and manning partner communication that maintains accurate system for transparency in approved candidate volume: 

  • Verifying hired applicant documents in due diligence
  • Issuing accurate onboarding paperwork to candidates in a timely manner and ensuring associated processes are completed to a high standard. 
  • Creation of shipboard team member records in applicable HR system (i.e. CPS).
  • Delivery of C1/D visa letters to all new hire (and returning crew) and upload of necessary documentation details in CPS.
  •  Administer various Reference letters (Verification of Employment) for current and former Team Members.
  •  Filing, updating, and archiving any new hire/rehire cancellations in CPS and Recruitment ATS

8. Facilitate Shipboard Interview Setup through Embarkation & Debarkation: For those routed through shipboard process, arrange table/cage tests with shipboard casino management.

  • Organize logistics of getting invited applicants through Terminal, onboard ship, interviewed as efficiently as possible and safely debarked.
  • Present results to Shoreside Manager for decision.
  • Be responsible for contacting applicant and setting up online interview/s.

9. Plan continual process improvement by:

  • Engaging in education of processes, applications and technology used in day-to-day recruitment operations.
  • Increasing knowledge of casino industry and associated roles on the gaming floor (Shipboard and Land Based).
  • Remaining current on digital technology, platforms and social media that is appealing to GG’s target audience

10. Support relationship building by:

  • Liaising with and assisting Manning Partners in an exemplary manner.
  • Providing high quality service to GG candidates to ensure a positive candidate experience. 
  • Maintain effective and positive working relationships with HR team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in HR administration or data entry is required; experience in recruitment is a strong advantage.
  • Background in live casino operations or shipboard environments is a plus, though not mandatory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of travel or travel related industry, visa requirements, and good knowledge of world geography and time zones.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, positive, and personable approach.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy in product work.
  • Possess the ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Solid organization skills with the ability to maintain updated new hire records.
  • Decision making skills.
  • Reliability with respect to confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Pleasant and patient telephone manner.  
  • Multi-lingual capability considered an asset.
