We’re looking for an amazing General Manager, Employee Experience and Housing professional to fill this role, which is based in Healy, Alaska. You’ll be responsible for the overall management and operation of employee housing, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained living environment for seasonal and year-round team members. This role provides leadership for housing operations, maintenance, custodial services, and resident support programs, while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and housing regulations. The General Manager, Employee Experience and Housing partners closely with HR, operations, and community stakeholders to enhance the employee experience, promote resident engagement, and support workforce retention. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with expertise in property management, facilities operations, and community building.

Responsibilities
Oversee daily employee housing operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained living environment through effective management of housekeeping, dining, and engagement activities.
Manage and lead staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
Coordinate property maintenance, safety, and building improvements, especially during off-season.
Develop and implement sustainability initiatives, such as local sourcing and community partnerships.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Foster relationships with local communities and support food security programs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field.
Valid certifications in health, safety, or food handling (as required by local regulations).
Proven experience in hospitality management, preferably in a lodge, resort, or similar environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams in a remote or seasonal setting.
Experience with property maintenance, guest services, and sustainability initiatives.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America Line/Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Leads all aspects of employee housing operations, serving as the primary steward of the employee housing experience, property operations, and safety. The role has broad influence across operational leaders, and community partners to ensure employees have the resources and support needed to live and work.
Must address operational challenges, such as property maintenance lodge locations, staffing issues, and supply chain logistics, often requiring creative and timely solutions.
Directly impacts employee well-being, community culture, and housing quality while fostering a safe and engaging environment that supports employee success and retention.
Leads a diverse team of seasonal and full-time employees, manages resources and budgets, and sets the standard for service and safety across the property.
