Your Responsibilities
Are you a healthcare leader ready to embark on a pivotal role? As Head of Medical Services, you'll lead impactful communication with our Medical Staff and stakeholders, driving new projects ashore and on board. Guide Marine HR in sourcing, evaluating, and nurturing medical talent while being the key player for all Doctors on board. Your advisory expertise will resonate through all the departments, ensuring a healthier fleet and seamless emergency management. Champion innovation by refining medical procedures, driving Internal Audits, and fostering Continuous Medical Education, all while conducting medical ship visits. - Supports the communication with ships Medical Staff and all other pertinent parties. Supports the implementation of new projects shore side and ship-based
- Supports and advices Marine HR in the recruitment, rotation plan, evaluation of Medical Staff in the fleet and serves as a contact point for all Doctors on board
- Acts as an Advisor to the Public Health department, FOC, legal and communication for the fleet. Takes part in the organization of emergency disembarkations at sea on ships of the fleet and on the duties assigned for HOC.
- Supports the development of medical procedures and processes. Participates in Internal Audits and acts as a Scientific Medicine coordinator and provider of CME.
- Completes Medical-related ship visits onboard all ships.
Your Profile
- University degree in medicine with min. 8+ years of professional experience
- Professional experience in the area of maritime medicine as well as emergency & family medicine are desirable.
- Previous experience as a Ship´s doctor is highly appreciated
- Leadership experience
- Specific or methodological IT Skills
- Demonstrated effectiveness in independently investigating problems and moving them towards resolution
- Organized/structured work approach, safety driven with good ethical and value behavior
- Strong English and German communications skills, written and oral. Italian language skills desirable
- This is a fixed-term contract of 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to 18 months
