Your Responsibilities
Join us as a Deck & Safety Superintendent and take responsibility for safe operations, technical integrity and regulatory compliance of our vessels.
- Oversee the strategic planning and on‑time execution of all deck & safety operations, including daily activities, maintenance, improvements and technical modifications for the assigned vessels
- Manage the full deck & safety budget, including spare parts, service contracts and cost control responsibilities
- Prepare for internal and external audits and inspections, provide professional support during the process and participate in onboard audits
- Follow up on audit findings in close cooperation with Cruise Governance/Audit Management and ensure accurate documentation in the Global HESS‑MS platform
- Support Cruise Governance and the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) as a subject matter expert for safety‑related and regulatory topics
- Take part in regular HESS/Safety meetings and collaborate closely with HESS SI Environment, HESS SI USPH, Nautical & Safety SI under the guidance of the Head of Safety and/or DPA
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with at least 3 years of experience in shipboard operations, preferably within the maritime industry
- Valid IMO license is mandatory
- Leadership experience on board – ideally as Staff Captain or Safety Officer – is considered a strong advantage
- Strong safety mindset, cooperative working style and ability to collaborate across functions and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence in working with digital systems
- Very good command of the English language, both spoken and written
