The Tour Guides are responsible for leading and promoting guest activities in a safe, engaging, and enjoyable manner at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destination. They provide clear instructions, information, and support to guests, ensuring everyone participates safely and confidently. Tour Guides assist with activity setup, manage group logistics, and monitor participants to maintain safety standards. They engage guests with enthusiasm, answer questions, and enhance the overall experience by creating a fun and memorable environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Tour Execution and Guest Interaction
- Conduct scheduled tours by greeting guests warmly and following the provided script.
- Provide clear instructions and guidance throughout the tour to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Engage guests with interesting commentary, fun facts, and interactive elements.
- Monitor guest participation and address questions or concerns promptly.
- Ensure guests complete a satisfaction survey at the end of the tour.
- Promote additional activities or services in a friendly and professional manner.
2. Equipment Maintenance and Preparation
- Inspect tour equipment for safety and operational readiness before each use.
- Maintain and prepare all tour equipment, including checking for damage or wear.
- Ensure all equipment is stored properly and organized for easy access.
- Report damaged or missing equipment to management for repair or replacement.
3. Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Maintain safety standards during all tours, ensuring guests follow instructions.
- Conduct safety briefings, when necessary, especially for water or adventure-based activities.
- Uphold environmental policies and procedures to protect natural areas and facilities.
- Identify and report any hazards or unsafe conditions promptly.
4. Support and Miscellaneous Duties
- Assist with beach or activity area maintenance and setup as needed.
- Support other team members during busy periods or special events.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management to ensure smooth operations.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic Education or equivalent experience is required; additional education in Hospitality or a related field is a plus
- Must be certified in First AID and CPR.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: #HMC
- Proficient in English
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically fit.
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds
- Ability to stand and/or walk in sand for extended periods
- Ability to ride a bike, operate kayak, fishing equipment and handle live animals
- Must not have motion sickness
- Ability to work in the sun for extended periods
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution and communication skills
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment as needed.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Detail orientated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Ability to multi-task and think critically
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong planning and coordination skills, especially in handling multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- May be requested to work a shift schedule while at any of the destinations.
