The Supervisor, Talent Acquisition (Ports & Destinations) serves as the primary Talent Acquisition point of contact for the Ports & Destinations organization and the key liaison between island and destination leadership and the Corporate Talent Acquisition office. This role is responsible for fostering strong communication and partnership between the field and Corporate, understanding and coordinating hiring needs, and ensuring a consistent, efficient, and positive recruitment experience across assigned locations.This position combines strategic consulting with proactive sourcing and full-cycle recruitment execution to deliver exceptional hiring outcomes across the enterprise. The Supervisor is accountable for delivering a high-quality candidate experience, maintaining data integrity in the ATS, leveraging analytics to drive decisions, and continuously improving through AI, automation, and process innovation.
The Supervisor partners closely with destination leadership, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and corporate stakeholders to understand workforce needs, provide regular updates on recruitment activity, coordinate hiring events and initiatives, and address recruitment-related questions and challenges. The role provides day-to-day coordination and guidance for recruiting activities and serves as a key escalation point, ensuring issues are appropriately addressed and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders.
The Supervisor provides direction, coaching, and support to the Talent Acquisition Specialist supporting Ports & Destinations recruitment efforts. This includes helping establish priorities, providing guidance on recruiting activities and processes, sharing business and hiring needs, and ensuring recruitment efforts are aligned with established Talent Acquisition practices and expectations.
In addition, the Supervisor owns and coordinates the Internship Program and supports other Early Talent initiatives for Ports & Destinations. This includes developing and maintaining relationships with local high schools, technical and vocational schools, colleges, and universities to strengthen early talent pipelines, increase awareness of career opportunities, and create meaningful opportunities to attract and develop future talent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the primary Talent Acquisition point person for the Ports & Destinations organization and the key liaison between destination leadership and the Corporate Talent Acquisition office. Partner with destination leadership, HR, and Corporate Talent Acquisition to coordinate recruitment activities and provide visibility into open positions, candidate pipelines, hiring progress, challenges, and anticipated staffing needs. Provide day-to-day coordination and oversight of recruiting activity for assigned Ports & Destinations locations. Help prioritize requisitions, coordinate recruiting resources, follow up on outstanding actions, and identify issues that may impact hiring timelines.
- Serve as a first point of contact and escalation point for recruitment-related questions and issues from island leadership. Work with the appropriate Corporate Talent Acquisition partners to resolve issues and ensure consistent application of established recruiting processes and policies.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to other TA professionals supporting Ports & Destinations hiring. Help establish priorities, share local business information, provide feedback, and promote consistent recruiting practices and service levels. Partner with the TA Manager on workload, performance, and team support as appropriate. Monitor recruiting activity and prepare routine status updates and reports for the appropriate Talent Acquisition and business leaders. Track open requisitions, hiring progress, candidate activity, and other established recruiting metrics.
- Own and execute the full recruitment lifecycle for most requisitions—from intake and job posting through sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, and pre-boarding hand-off. Conduct thorough intake sessions with hiring managers and HRBPs to understand role requirements, team dynamics, compensation parameters, and success profiles. Develop and execute tailored sourcing strategies for each role, leveraging job boards, social media, LinkedIn Recruiter, employee referrals, talent pools, and AI-powered sourcing tools. Source and assess both active and passive candidates to ensure alignment with role requirements and organizational culture. Evaluate candidate eligibility for non-immigrant visas and identify creative sourcing and compliance strategies to ensure identified talent is actionable. Manage job postings and collaborate with Talent Acquisition Marketing to optimize applicant flow and visibility when necessary.
- Screen, assess, and present qualified candidate slates to hiring managers with clear, data-informed recommendations. Manage the interview process— preparing interview guides, facilitating debrief sessions, and guiding hiring managers through structured decision-making. Extend offers in partnership with Compensation and HRBPs, negotiating terms as needed to secure top talent. Ensure all candidates—hired or not—receive a timely, professional, and positive experience that reflects Carnival’s employer brand. Partner with HR Managers to ensure timely processing of immigration petitions.
- Coordinate job fairs, hiring events, recruiting campaigns, and other talent acquisition activities for Ports & Destinations locations. Work with local leaders and Corporate Partners to ensure appropriate planning, candidate communication, logistics, and follow-up. Help build and maintain candidate pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill positions by identifying appropriate local recruiting resources, community partnerships, schools, workforce organizations, and other talent sources. Travel to and represent Carnival at recruiting events, college fairs, and networking opportunities, serving as a brand ambassador. Identify soft skills and cultural alignment in candidates and redirect resumes to appropriate recruiters when outside assigned disciplines.
- Own and coordinate the Summer Internship Program for Ports & Destinations, including partnering with business leaders and Corporate Talent Acquisition to identify internship needs, coordinate recruiting and selection activities, support intern onboarding, maintain program communications, and help ensure a positive experience for interns and participating leaders. Support and coordinate Early Talent initiatives for Ports & Destinations, including developing and maintaining relationships with local high schools, technical and vocational schools, colleges, and universities. Represent the organization at school events, career fairs, networking events, and other outreach opportunities to build awareness of career opportunities and develop future talent pipelines. Build ongoing relationships with school career services, faculty, program directors, and other educational partners to identify opportunities for internships, entry-level hiring, campus engagement, and other Early Talent programs aligned with Ports & Destinations workforce needs.
- Maintain accurate candidate records in personal recruitment files & HR systems (currently Oracle) through daily updates and interfaces. Ensure all stages of the recruitment lifecycle are compliant with internal policies and external regulations. Collaborate with key stakeholders to confirm that requisitions, candidate profiles, and offers are properly approved and documented. Create and update recurring and ad hoc reporting to assist in the recruitment lifecycle including but not limited to Candidate Sheets, Market Data & Research and recruitment lifecycle reports. Partner with the HR Managers & HR Directors to understand upcoming complex roles and ensure adequate advanced candidate pools. Utilize market data to influence the various internal departments on any roles outside the typical Recruitment Lifecycle.
- Lead and contribute to projects that enhance the Talent Acquisition function, including initiatives that strengthen the employer brand, employee value proposition, and recruitment processes. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
SKILLS SPECIFICS:
- Experience coordinating recruiting initiatives and providing guidance or mentoring to recruiting professionals is preferred.
- Microsoft Office/Outlook are required for this role. Strong skills with Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and sourcing tools such as LinkedIn or Indeed. Experience with recruiting metrics, candidate pipelines, recruiting events, and local talent sourcing is preferred.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Industrial Organization, Business or other related field
- SHRM or HRCI certification a plus
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive Talent Acquisition/recruiting experience, including experience supporting high-volume, multi-location, or geographically dispersed hiring.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in conversational English
- Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills are required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with island leaders, Corporate Talent Acquisition, HR, recruiters, candidates, vendors, and educational partners.
