Job Summary
The Security Command Center Attendant is responsible for continuously monitoring and responding to HESS (Health, Environment, Safety, and Security) incidents, alarms, and emergencies within the facility at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destination. This role involves the observation and operation of surveillance systems, including CCTV and other monitoring equipment, to ensure a safe and secure environment for personnel, guests, and assets. The attendant coordinates communication during incidents, maintains accurate documentation of all security-related activities, and ensures that all systems are properly maintained and functioning. In addition, the position supports training initiatives, promotes compliance with security protocols, and assists in developing response procedures to enhance overall safety and operational efficiency.
1. Surveillance Monitoring & Incident Response
- Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems to identify and assess potential security threats.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, ensuring appropriate action and dispatching security personnel as needed.
- Monitor fire alarm systems, manage emergency calls and alerts, and coordinate with DPFSO/PFSS to deploy the Incident Response Assistance Team (IRAT) when required.
- Maintain continuous situational awareness of all monitored areas to ensure safety and security across the facility."
2. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all security incidents, alarms, and corresponding responses.
- Complete work logs, daily reports, and system documentation to ensure traceability and compliance with company protocols.
- Report any irregularities, system malfunctions, or security concerns to the Port Facility Security Supervisor for timely resolution.
3. Compliance, Training & System Maintenance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations as well as HESS and company policies.
- Participate actively in drills, training sessions, and emergency response exercises to enhance readiness and operational efficiency.
- Support the upkeep, functionality, and testing of security monitoring systems and communication tools.
- Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and maintenance of a safe working environment.
4. Collaboration & Safety Promotion
- Coordinate and communicate with other departments, including Security, Operations, and Management, for effective incident response.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability through adherence to company safety competencies and regulations.
- Assist with cross-departmental initiatives to strengthen overall security and operational resilience.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management in support of the facility’s security objectives.

HESS Responsibilities
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to health, safety, environmental protection, and security.
- Take all necessary precautions, use personal protective equipment (PPE), safety devices, and tools correctly and consistently, as required by the nature of the work.
- Promptly report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or environmental concerns to the appropriate supervisor or HESS representative.

- Actively participate in HESS trainings and initiatives that promote a safe, secure, and environmentally sustainable workplace.

Essential/Minimum qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required ; additional education in Hospitality or a related field is a plus
- Certification in security management, emergency response, or a related field a plus
Essential experience required
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a security/surveillance role
Training in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred - At least 1 year of experience dispatching security personnel preferred
- In-depth knowledge of security operations, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols
- Familiarity with CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems
- Excellent organization, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Superb observation skills with a strong commitment to integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
- Proficiency in standard office software and security management systems
- Ability to stay calm and think critically under pressure
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests

- Ability to work outdoors enduring prolonged periods standing and walking
- All island employees must be physically capable of participating in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills, with full range of motion in arms and legs, and full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities to give and receive instructions during emergencies.

Work may involve indoor and outdoor tasks with exposure to varying climates and machinery operation - Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and/or evenings; may be required to work varying shifts"
