The L&D Manager, Bahamas Destinations is responsible for leading, managing, and delivering the full spectrum of learning and development programs across Celebration Key, RelaxAway at Half Moon Cay, and Princess Cays. Reporting to the L&D Manager, Global Destinations, this role serves as the senior L&D presence across all three Bahamas destinations, responsible for building a high-performing team, cultivating strategic partnerships with HR and operational leaders, and ensuring learning initiatives are aligned with business priorities and deliver measurable impact. This is a leadership and partnership role first, with responsibility for setting standards, building relationships, developing people, and facilitating key learning programs when required.

Key Accountabilities/Job Functions:

1. Strategic Leadership and Team Management

Lead, coach, and develop the L&D Trainer team across all three Bahamas destinations. Set performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and create development opportunities. Ensure consistent delivery quality standards across Celebration Key, Half Moon Cay, and Princess Cays. Partner with the L&D Manager, Global Destinations to align Bahamas L&D activity with corporate priorities, curriculum design, and reporting requirements. Lead planning and execution of learning initiatives, ensuring resources, schedules, and facilitator capacity are aligned to business priorities. Oversee LMS administration, learner tracking, reporting, data integrity, program effectiveness, attendance, compliance, and cost efficiency of L&D operations.

2. Operational Partnerships

Serve as the primary L&D partner for HR directors, HR managers, destination General Managers, and department heads across all three Bahamas destinations. Proactively identify training needs, surface gaps, and recommend practical learning solutions aligned with business requirements and corporate strategy. Serve as the liaison between the Bahamas L&D operation and the broader corporate L&D team. Partner with Human Resources to support onboarding, train-the-trainer initiatives, compliance reporting, employee engagement efforts, campus fairs, internship programs, academic development efforts, and other workforce development priorities.

3. Facilitation

Personally deliver key learning programs, including leadership development, management programs, onboarding modules, and compliance training across all three Bahamas destinations. Step in to facilitate any program as needed and model facilitation excellence for the trainer team. Conduct train-the-trainer sessions and develop facilitation capability in direct reports and departmental facilitators. Ensure all facilitation meets Carnival quality and compliance standards.

Adheres to Corporate Policies and Procedures, including Code of Conduct, Audit Procedures and any control related responsibility for financial data entered, stored, or reported via business systems within employee’s control (list not exhaustive). Ongoing Obligation.

Leadership and People Development:

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a team with clear expectations, honest feedback, and genuine investment in their growth. Ability to build psychological safety within a team and create an environment where people speak up, take risks, and learn from mistakes. Experience managing performance, navigating difficult conversations, and holding people accountable with professionalism and care.

Facilitation and Communication:

Confident, credible, and engaging facilitator across small and large groups at all levels of the organization. Ability to adapt delivery style to diverse audiences including front-line team members, supervisors, managers, and senior leaders. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into accessible, actionable content.

Strategic Thinking and Operational Partnership:

Ability to think ahead of the operation, identify gaps before they become problems, and bring solutions that are practical and business relevant. Strong relationship-building instincts with the ability to earn trust quickly across HR, operations, and leadership. Experience aligning learning programs to business priorities and demonstrating their impact. Ability to manage multiple programs and sites simultaneously without losing quality or follow-through.


Administration and Systems:

Proficiency with Learning Management Systems including scheduling, reporting, compliance tracking, and data integrity. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in recordkeeping, reporting, and program administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.


Personal Attributes:

Professional presence and executive maturity; comfortable representing L&D at any level of the organization. High degree of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality with sensitive information. Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes through collaboration, relationship building, and problem solving rather than positional authority. Self-directed, adaptable, and capable of operating across three destinations with varying operational rhythms.


Essential/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in any field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.


Essential Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years in a training, learning and development, or facilitation role in a professional setting.
  • Minimum 2 years directly managing or leading a team, with responsibility for performance, development, and day-to-day direction.
  • Experience managing cross-functional relationships with HR, operations, and senior leadership.
  • Experience coordinating learning programs across multiple locations or sites preferred.
  • Prior experience in a hospitality, resort, or destination operating environment preferred.
  • Prior experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) for scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
