Job Summary
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of wiring, fixtures, and equipment at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destination This includes laying out and installing conduits and pipes to route electrical cables, setting up circuit breakers, panels, and other hardware, and connecting wiring in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. The Electrician also inspects, troubleshoots, and performs preventive maintenance on electrical components to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability, playing a vital role in providing consistent and dependable power for a wide range of building operations.

Key Accountabilities/Job Functions

1. Installation and System Setup 

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical control systems, wiring networks, and lighting systems.
  • Lay out and install conduits, circuit breakers, panels, and other electrical hardware.
  • Interpret and apply technical diagrams, blueprints, and site plans to execute accurate system setups.
  • Ensure all installations comply with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.

2. Maintenance and Preventive Care 

  • Perform routine inspections of transformers, circuit breakers, and related electrical components.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Carry out corrective servicing of circuit breakers and other key electrical devices.
  • Provide electrical services in guest, employee, and public areas to maintain uninterrupted site operations.

3. Troubleshooting and Repairs 

  • Diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and diagnostic tools.
  • Repair or replace faulty equipment, electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems.
  • Restore systems to full operational capacity while minimizing disruption to site activities.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.

4. Technical Support, Safety, and Other Duties 

  • Maintain working knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems to support overall site operations.
  • Utilize various testing equipment for system evaluation and cross-functional maintenance.
  • Adhere to safety practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assist the Site Engineer with additional duties and projects as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be physically fit. 
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment as needed.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • May be requested to work a shift schedule while at any of the destinations.
  • Knowledge:  Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.
  • Skills:  Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Abilities:  Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance / Capacity to be punctual and meet deadlines / Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team /
  • Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions and tasks.

HESS Responsibilities

Essential/Minimum qualifications

  • Education:  High School Diploma  orGED or High school diploma or equivalent experience is required; additional education in Hospitality or a related field is a plus.                                                                           Single phase certification preferred. 

Essential experience required

  • At least three-five (3-5) years’ experience working as an electrician.

  • Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
  • Experience with or knowledge of using hand-powered tools.
  • Takes responsibility, pay attention to safety procedures and legal regulations 
  • Troubleshoots problems and makes timely repairs 
  • Deep electrical system, power generation, blueprints,  maintenance, and repair knowledge.  
  • Maintaining good knowledge of heating and air  conditioning systems as well as various testing  equipment.  
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills  
  • Following National Electrical Code state and local  building regulations.  
  • Adhere to all HESS policies and procedure.
