IT Factory Performance Engineer
Job ID 14239 Date posted 10/26/2026 City GENOVA State LIGURIA Country Italy Job TypeJob Description
Job description
Ready to make IT delivery measurable, predictable and powered by Generative AI?
Within the IT Factory at Costa's Genoa Headquarters, the IT Factory Performance Engineer will turn delivery data into insights that help us decide better and deliver faster. Across our complex technology landscape – from customer-facing digital platforms and onboard and shoreside applications to cloud services and software modernization – you will drive the practical adoption of Generative AI.
Live your ambition. Lead with impact
As part of the IT Factory organization, you will help industrialize technology delivery across Costa. From delivery governance and KPI design to GenAI pilots and supplier performance, you will strengthen accountability and turn knowledge into reusable assets. Working with Factory leads, internal teams and technology partners, you will support a culture where evidence drives decisions.
Delivery Performance & Governance
You will build a trusted view of IT Factory performance. By validating data from Factory teams, vendors and enterprise tools, you will create dashboards and scorecards covering predictability, lead time, quality, cost, capacity and supplier performance. With Factory leads and suppliers, you will define shared KPIs, baselines and data-quality rules, bringing trends and deviations to recurring governance and making constraints, dependencies and risks visible.
GenAI Adoption & Value Creation
You will identify and prioritize practical GenAI use cases across the software development lifecycle – from analysis and coding to testing and knowledge retrieval. You will help design practices, prompts, templates and reusable agents, coordinate pilots with teams and vendors, and measure their value through indicators such as time saved, cycle-time improvement and quality uplift.
Knowledge & Supplier Partnership
You will help turn knowledge concentrated within external suppliers or key individuals into governed Factory assets, documenting KPI logic, data sources, use cases and decisions. You will distinguish justified technical complexity from overestimation, spot missing or duplicated effort, and constructively challenge supplier proposals. You will also prepare management reporting for Factory leadership, highlighting performance, risks, opportunities and required actions.
What makes you unique
• Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Economics, Management or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in IT delivery analysis, PMO, performance management, data analysis, software delivery or a related technology role.
• Strong analytical mindset, confident with structured and unstructured data, metrics, trends and root-cause analysis, and able to translate data into concise executive messages and actionable recommendations.
• Practical knowledge of reporting and collaboration tools such as Excel, Power BI, Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, SharePoint or equivalent platforms.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, delivery governance, testing and vendor-based operating models, with enough engineering depth to read and discuss code, architecture diagrams, API contracts, data models, logs, build pipelines and test evidence, without necessarily being the primary hands-on developer.
• Working knowledge of at least one modern application stack, ideally including Java and Spring Boot, web front-end frameworks such as Angular, REST APIs, SQL and relational databases, cloud platforms, CI/CD and automated testing.
• Experience working with external technology suppliers in a multi-vendor environment; experience reviewing technical deliverables, software estimates, solution designs, code-quality findings, test strategies or release-readiness evidence is a strong advantage.
• Genuine interest in Generative AI applied to software engineering, knowledge management and process improvement; hands-on experimentation is a strong advantage.
• Good written and spoken English and Italian, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Accuracy, reliability, intellectual curiosity and a pragmatic, service-oriented attitude, with openness to feedback, new ideas and cultural differences.
