We are looking to hire a Sr. Solutions Architect eCommerce Engineering. The Senior Solutions Architect is a highly knowledgeable, technology leader developing IT infrastructure solutions and standards that meet or exceed business performance expectations. This role is responsible for providing the highest level of expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the enterprise platform computing architecture. It is accountable for the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems and applications across the enterprise. Reviews, advises and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs versus benefits and impact on the enterprise business process and goals. Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards. Assists in the development of and manages an architecture governance process. Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate. Tracks industry trends and maintains knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise's architecture needs..

Responsibilities:
Architecture & Engineering:
Design, plan, document, and support the configuration of logical and physical system layouts for princess.com web and ECommerce
Provide direction for the installation and configuration of all software packages as needed to support business requirements for AWS environments, On prem Linux systems.
Perform analysis and develop solutions based on established service agreements for capacity planning and performance tuning of AWS EKS servers, Cloud solutions.
Develop detailed design, installation and configuration documentation for enterprise system deployments hosted within AWS, Microsoft.
Ensure in solutions and deployments, the security of our enterprise infrastructure and compliance with all applicable security standards (PCI, PII, HIPPA etc.)
Recommend and oversee princess.com web and ECommerce projects that expand, change, or improve the systems and related infrastructure
provide assistance in reviewing performance and capacity requests as well as design solution resolution for features built for princess.com browse, booking and OBR platform.
Collaborate with the PCL Brand service delivery leaders to ensure an understanding of business cases and to ensure that the appropriate solution is selected that meets the business need
Develop solutions with a focus on reducing operating costs or increasing guest and crew experience using modern cloud solutions, tools like AWS, Gitlab etc.
Provide Capital Expenditure Request level hardware, software, license and labor estimate for project platforms and labor that supports princess.com web and Ecommerce.(Ranging from $250k to $2m)
Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to align DevOps practices with business goals to execute backend system integrations, DB's like snowflake, Oracle, DB2, Enterprise services.
Act as the highest level of engineering escalation for issues encountered
Provide system support and troubleshooting expertise as needed for designed solutions
Provides technical and tactical support to team subordinates when directed or necessary to deliver.
Ensure platform scalability, uptime, and performance during peak traffic (e.g., holiday sales)
Understand advances and changes in the technology industry and work directly with equipment manufactures to assess new technologies
Contribute as necessary in a hands-on manner with the implementation of solutions in support of all projects
Work with other infrastructure teams for new systems designed and engineered
Knowledge & Skills:
Scope: The Engineer is responsible for making daily decisions regarding standards, architecture, design, security, and deployment of platform technology solutions. This role will support cross-departmental collaboration and internal communications with staff throughout the organization and service providers while promoting a positive work environment that supports consistency and drives efficiencies. Lead the design and implementation of DevOps strategies across large-scale eCommerce platforms. Oversee infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, cloud architecture, and system reliability. Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to align DevOps with business goals.
Problem-solving: Diagnose and resolve complex deployment, scalability, and performance issues. Design fault-tolerant systems to handle high traffic and transaction volumes. Implement proactive monitoring and alerting to minimize downtime and customer impact.
Impact: Directly influence customer experience by ensuring platform stability and speed. Reduce time-to-market for new features through optimized CI/CD workflows. Drive cost efficiency through cloud optimization and infrastructure automation.
Leadership: The role requires strong leadership skills. Mentor DevOps engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Champion DevSecOps practices and cross-functional collaboration. Lead incident response and postmortem analysis to improve system resilience.
Knowledge: Working experience with below tools and technologies. Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Expertise in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible). Familiarity with eCommerce architecture patterns, traffic behavior, and security compliance
Skills: Technical - CI/CD (Jenkins, Gitlab, bitbucket), Scripting (Python, Bash), Monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana). Architectural - Microservices, API gateways, load balancing, autoscaling. Soft Skills - Communication, stakeholder management, adaptability, strategic thinking.
Abilities: Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Balance speed and stability in deployment strategies. Navigate ambiguity and make data-driven decisions under pressure
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or other technical degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 10 years working with large enterprise-class server hardware, cloud solutions, operating systems and infrastructure applications
Expert level design and solution engineering experience of the Microsoft Windows OS
Expert understanding of Microsoft infrastructure technologies and operating systems
Experience with operating system performance monitoring and tuning
VMWare, HyperV or other Virtualization offerings
Windows Server administration, implementation, and support
Microsoft Windows Server Microsoft Active Directory / Group Policy
Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop
System Center Configuration Manager
AWS and or Azure Cloud Services, Active Directory Federation services, and Azure AD, Azure Virtual Desktop
Container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
Linux experience, pref. RedHat
Basic Scripting in Perl, Bash, Python or Powershell
Experience building and hosting Java platforms
Experience with enterprise monitoring solutions
Working knowledge of Database systems (SQL, Oracle)
Good understanding of network communication protocols
Experience with audit compliance (SOX,PCI, etc)
Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams

Work Conditions:Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Physical Demands:Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
This position is classified as “Hybrid.” As a Hybrid role, it requires employees to work from a designated Holland office Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.
