We are looking to hire a Senior Specialist, Shipboard Finance. The Senior Specialist, Shipboard Finance supports the fleet-wide delivery of operational excellence across the shipboard Finance Department. This role strengthens shipboard performance through data analysis, technology enablement, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Specialist partners with shipboard and shoreside stakeholders to optimize inventory management, implement new systems and equipment, elevate the guest experience, and maintain high standard of appearance and hygiene. The role upholds Princess' Culture Essentials and The Princess Purpose service commitments while contributing directly to the fleet success and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
Hotel Operations & Guest Experience
Research and recommend new technologies, financial and audit programs, and equipment to enhance Finance department efficiency and product delivery.
Serve as the primary contact for Finance department technology development, coordinating with the shoreside Guest Operations and Systems and Controls team, and shipboard leadership to launch enhancements.
Track and analyze ship audit reports and scores, identifying deficiencies and formulating corrective actions including but not limited policy enhancements, SOP updates etc
Partner with the Systems and Controls team to maintain and update shipboard Finance SharePoint documents, HESS and MSPM updates, and inspection documentation
Prepare fleet communications, presentations, and meeting documentation to support shipboard teams in achieving operational standards.
Product Delivery & Operational Efficiency
Use dashboards and analytical tools to provide real-time visibility into operational performance, identifying trends, bottlenecks, and improvement areas.
Conduct regular performance reviews, producing detailed operational insights for leadership.
Ensure accurate shoreside operational data capture, communication, and alignment to continuous improvement initiatives.
Financial Responsibility
Manage the tracking of compensation and house account spending to maintain financial visibility for fleet operations.
Assists with the planning of onboard currency conversion projects as vessels move to and from Australia or any other applicable region.
Review voyage lengths to identify opportunities where credit card settlement is required on a mid-voyage basis
Identify trends, variances, and cost-saving opportunities, offering strategic recommendations to optimize financial outcomes.
Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and shipboard teams to ensure cost-effective resource utilization
Team Development & Personnel
Model and reinforce Princess Culture Essentials and The Princess Purpose service principles across the shipboard Finance team.
Support change management and promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Encourage teammate driven ideas, assisting with development, approval and implementation processes.
Maintain knowledge of all Finance shipboard roles and rotations to ensure accurate guidance and support planning.
Safety & Compliance
Support shipboard leadership in maintaining safe and compliant environments.
Ensure compliance with all HESS and US Public Health standards.
Assist in coordinating shipboard resources during outbreak situations requiring elected sanitation measures.
Review internal and external audit findings, supporting development of remediations plans and long-term prevention strategies.

Scope: The Senior Specialist, Shipboard Finance plays a critical role in the financial integrity and operational success of the Princess fleet by supporting shipboard financial operations across all vessels. This role enables strong financial governance, accuracy, and compliance while supporting efficient shipboard execution. Serving as a subject matter expert, the Senior Specialist partners closely with shipboard finance teams, hotel operations, corporate finance, IT, audit, and shoreside leadership to ensure consistent application of financial policies, controls, and systems that support operational excellence and business objectives.
Problem solving: This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to interpret financial data, identify variances, assess operational root causes, and recommend corrective actions. The Senior Specialist must navigate complex and evolving shipboard environments, balancing financial controls with operational realities, while partnering cross-functionally to resolve issues related to revenue accuracy, cost control, system performance, and compliance. The role supports continuous improvement through data-driven insights, process optimization, and proactive risk mitigation.
Impact: The Senior Specialist, Shipboard Finance directly supports financial accuracy, financial compliance, and operational reliability across the fleet. The role supports effective financial controls that protect company assets and brand reputation. By enabling accurate reporting, system adoption, and consistent financial practices, the role strengthens decision-making, supports cost-efficient operations, and enhances transparency and accountability across shipboard financial operations.
Leadership: While this role does not have direct leadership responsibility, it requires strong influence and partnership across shipboard and shoreside stakeholders. The Senior Specialist leads through expertise by guiding shipboard finance teams, supporting the implementation of financial systems, policies, and process improvements, and contributing to strategic initiatives impacting shipboard financial operations. Success in this role depends on the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, communicate clearly, support change management, and serve as a trusted financial subject matter expert to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational excellence throughout the fleet.

Requirements:
Experience in hotel operations, finance and financial audit (shipboard or shoreside)
Experience with inventory management, shipboard/hospitality financial systems
Experience with data analysis, reporting and systems implementation
Strong operational understanding of hotel environments and guest experience drivers
Shipboard experience in Finance operations is preferred
Experience with HESS, MSPM and audit compliance programs
Background in large-scale fleet or multi-site hotel operations
Experience contributing to continuous improvement or change management initiatives
Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work beyond normal business hours or on weekends may be required occasionally to support business needs, projects, or operations.

This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Princess office Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the area.
