We give our guests the Medallion Class experience others simply can’t. The Love Boat promises something for everyone.
We are looking for a QA Engineer. The QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of xIoT software and hardware solutions deployed across shipboard and shoreside environments. This role involves executing hands‑on testing, system integration validation, defect analysis, quality reporting, and supporting early risk identification throughout the development lifecycle. The QA Engineer will work closely with development, product, operations, and vendor teams to contribute to test strategies and validation efforts that support stable and scalable xIoT solutions in production. The ideal candidate will have experience in software quality assurance, testing integrated hardware and software systems, and collaborating effectively in a cross‑functional Agile environment.
Here’s a summary of what Princess is looking for in a QA Engineer. Is this you?
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for xIoT software, firmware, and hardware integrations across shipboard and shoreside environments.
Perform hands-on functional, integration, system, regression, and exploration of xIoT solutions, including validation of hardware devices, protocols, and backend services
Validate end-to-end system behavior by testing interactions between devices, applications, networks, and vendor-provided components.
Identify, document, track, and triage defects with clear reproduction steps, logs, and supporting artifacts; collaborate with engineering teams to drive resolution.
Analyze logs, metrics, and system behavior to troubleshoot failures, performance issues, and stability concerns in test and production like environments
Partner with development, product, operations, and vendors to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, and test coverage expectations
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, test strategies, tools, and environments, including identifying, designing, and maintaining test automation assets where appropriate, to improve test efficiency, coverage, and overall product quality
Develop and maintain deep technical knowledge of xIoT platforms, deployed systems, and shipboard operational constraints.
Knowledge & Skills:
Scope: The QA Engineer, Ecosystem Engineering role supports the quality and reliability of xIoT software and hardware solutions deployed across both shipboard and shoreside environments. The role operates within a cross‑functional ecosystem that includes development, product, operations, and external vendors. Responsibilities impact both onboard guest experiences and operational systems, with testing activities contributing directly to production readiness and system stability across fleet deployments.
Problem solving: This role involves identifying and resolving issues within integrated systems that include software, hardware, networking, and third‑party components. The QA Engineer is expected to analyze logs, system behavior, and test results to diagnose defects, reproduce issues, and support root cause analysis. Work often requires prioritizing findings, adapting test approaches as system behavior evolves, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams to address issues under real‑world operational constraints.
Impact: The QA Engineer’s work directly impacts product quality, system reliability, and deployment confidence for xIoT solutions. By validating functionality and integration prior to and during releases, the role helps reduce production defects, improve stability, and support consistent guest and operational experiences. This role contributes to maintaining quality standards and improving testing practices within the xIoT discipline.
Leadership: This position does not include direct people management responsibilities. Leadership is demonstrated through effective collaboration, ownership of assigned testing activities, clear communication of quality risks, and accountability for deliverables. The role requires working across teams and with vendors to support shared quality objectives, without formal authority over resources or budgets.
For all roles:
Knowledge: Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.
Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills
Abilities: Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance / Capacity to be punctual and meet deadlines / Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team / Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions and tasks.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
Demonstrated knowledge of software quality assurance principles, test methodologies, and defect management practices
Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies
Ability to analyze system logs, test results, and technical information to support defect analysis and validation activities
Proficiency using standard QA tools for test case management, defect tracking, and collaboration
Experience performing hands‑on functional, integration, system, and regression testing within complex software environments
Experience validating integrated systems involving software, hardware, networking, and third‑party or vendor‑provided components
Experience documenting, tracking, and communicating defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting technical artifacts
Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including development, product, operations, and vendors, to support quality and validation efforts
Experience analyzing system behavior, logs, or telemetry to troubleshoot issues and support root cause analysis
Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Physical Demands:
