We’re looking for an experienced Manager, Music Programs for developing and delivering compelling music programs that appeal to a variety of guest demographics and ship itineraries. They will also be managing shoreside and fleet-wide Music Direction team, overseeing recruitment and scheduling of the strongest possible talent to optimize the delivery of the Princess Entertainment Experience for our onboard guests and ensuring accurate music licensing across all Entertainment use, including live, pre-recorded, ambient, within web and across production shows, inclusive of grand performance rights when needed.

Responsibilities:
Manage the development and implementation of all areas of music program and operations
Oversee the development and implementation of new and ongoing music programming with a focus on important new/developing trades, and supporting new marketing strategies
Manage and oversee staff rank and complement planning with appropriate Compensation, Planning, and Fleet Resource teams.
Oversee for staff recruitment and planning for the music operational teams on all PCL vessels, to include determination of seasonal staff placement and cost efficiencies, and regular communication to the fleet on staffing operations, using the ROSE ATS and Talent Management (TMS) platforms.
Develop and communicate detailed operational guidelines for new programs and activities with shipboard management monthly; communicates with shoreside departments ongoing/as needed.
Manage the development and implementation of Princess vendor talent partnerships program; negotiates fees and terms with vendor partners; execute new vendor service agreements for key partnerships.
Communicate and clarify existing policies and guidelines, and develop new policy standards in support of delivering the best possible guest experience
Assess and communicate risk management in accordance with music content usage licensing, safety of performances, and legal considerations in accordance with onboard music operations.
Manage and approve shipboard expenditures; monitors monthly expenditures; conduct departmental purchases in compliance with budget and departmental purchasing practices.
This role may typically be challenged with direct communication to senior or executive level shipboard or shoreside individuals or officers on product or operational decisions due to current rank/title.
Manage shipboard-oriented music functions, including complement staff/rank planning, rotations and performance issues of shipboard staff within areas of responsibility, and work with Sr Director to develop and implement innovative and unique onboard musical entertainment products and ship/venue-specific programs.
Monitor product delivery (via reports, Cruise Director evaluations, Music Manager reports, anecdotal feedback, OBE ratings and in-person inspections) to ensure all musical performers meet Princess standards
Manage and oversee the recruitment and development and management of all onboard based on itinerary and passenger demographics for each cruise
Manage and oversee implementation of new-build (Sphere Class), and PCL Crowd DJ (Nightlife/CAVS/BGM) projects, including capital expenditures, vendor/system designs, and technical infrastructure/LES/networking integrations; develop music programming, working with vendor partners to create and communicate support materials; responsible for staff training.
Oversee the selection and delivery of onboard recorded music content based on ship destinations, itinerary length, and plan, and assist in managing manage shoreside and shipboard music content usage to ensure compliance with relevant licensing laws and regulations, inclusive of production shows.
Manage and foster Princess brand partnerships/relationships with vendor/media partners, including Nightlife Music Int’l, CAVS USA, Audio-By-The-Bay, Sony ATV, and others, to provide the highest level of satisfaction to guests and crew. Seek additional third party alliances and co-branding opportunities to enhance brand appeal and brand differentiation for our onboard music programs, and conduct regular competitive benchmarking in support of strategy development and market condition analysis.
Support and collaborate with Cruise Director, onboard Music Managers, and others on a daily basis (as needed) to provide direction and resolve onboard issues, and to ensure par stock levels of required equipment are maintained onboard each vessel
Regularly review financial performance for Music Programs and justifies variances to budget/forecast, and reforecast budgets based on actual expenditures and develops course-correction strategies in areas where unforeseen overages occur.
Develop culturally-targeted music and programs (ukulele classes, steel drum, ethnic drum circles, etc.) to reflect Princess itineraries, and which guide development of music performances to leverage evolving trends and tastes of passengers.
Manage all background music fleetwide in terms of thematic appropriateness for each venue in which it is played, including daily scheduling of appropriate playlists, as well as manage the license and reporting compliance with P.R.S. that allows Princess Cruises to play the music it does throughout the fleet
Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to conceive and execute compelling music programming concepts within fiscal constraints
Manage multiple, concurrent projects and reprioritize on a daily basis.
Manage multiple budget accounts
Ability to negotiate licensing fees, product content and work with other competing suppliers as well as sister cruise line brands
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree/Graduate level music degree preferred
Extensive experience in music artistry and/or recruiting including 3 years in a leadership role.
Must possess detailed knowledge of the music industry and how it relates to the cruise industry.
Exceptional organizational and verbal and written communication skills
Highly proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other web-based applications

- Base Salary Range: $83,300 to $112,500. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: None or very little travel
Work Conditions: Work beyond normal business hours or on weekends may be required occasionally to support business needs, projects, or operations.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Holland office Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
