We are looking to hire a Manager, Learning & Development. The Manager, Learning & Development (L&D) is responsible for driving learning initiatives that align with strategic objectives and alignment across all Fleet training programs for Princess Cruises. This role provides regular updates to leadership and key stakeholders on project progress and outcomes. The L&D Manager partners closely with business leaders and corporate stakeholders to ensure learning strategies are aligned with business objectives. Success in this role requires strong project management skills and the ability to influence across functions, and a commitment to delivering high-quality learning solutions. Success in this role requires influencing, fostering collaboration and forming relationships with stakeholders, and maintaining a high standard of learning excellence. The Manager, L&D also supports the delivery of high-quality training aligned with Princess Cruises’ standards, regulatory requirements, business objectives, governance strategy creation, best practices (ADDIE), and framework to direct stakeholders. The L&D Manager is responsible for the following key responsibilities: Program Planning & Execution, Stakeholder Collaboration, Strategic Analysis and Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities:
Programs Planning & Execution:
Lead the end-to-end delivery of approved learning programs/process and develops a detailed project plan that includes managing scope, timelines, dependencies and risks
Leads standardized governance and Steering Committee review to drive alignment, consistency, and accountability
Monitor program progress and proactively adjust plans to address challenges or changes in scope
Manage learning program budget in partnership with Fleet L&D Specialist
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with internal stakeholders and leaders to ensure learning programs remain compliant and meet regulatory requirements
Facilitate alignment on program goals, scope, timelines, and success metrics
Lead the prioritization of new and ongoing training requests to ensure learners receive timely and relevant learning
Foster strong collaboration across Hotel Training Team, Maritime Training Team, Fleet leadership and partner teams to ensure shipboard training needs are clearly communicated and effectively facilitated
Strategic Analysis Metrics & Reporting:
Develop and set the learning methodology and track ongoing measurement of program effectiveness and impact leveraging dashboards and key metrics
Develop clear, concise reports and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders and leadership
Leverage project management tools for tracking all project steps and to support data-driven decision making
Continuous Optimization:
Analyze training data and feedback to continuously improve learning initiatives
Evaluate training performance and maintain strong, collaborative relationships to support long-term L&D objectives
Incorporate stakeholder feedback to continuously improve learning programs and execution
Knowledge & Skills:
Scope: The Manager, L&D plays a critical role in shaping fleet learning strategy across Princess Cruises. The role collaborates closely with stakeholders, including corporate, to ensure learning initiatives are consistent and aligned across departments. The role oversees cross-functional projects that impact multiple departments and geographies, including Deck, Tech, Hotel and HR operations. The role is expected to maintain a diverse perspective while tailoring solutions to meet local operational needs. This balanced approach ensures learning programs are both strategically aligned and operationally effective.
Problem solving: This role requires advanced analytical and strategic thinking to address complex learning and organizational challenges. Solutions often require balancing competing priorities, navigating ambiguity, and anticipating downstream business impact. It also requires staying current on emerging learning and development trends and applying them in innovative ways to meet evolving business needs.
Impact: The Manager, L&D has a broad and meaningful impact across the organization by influencing learning standards and support learning excellence. Through collaboration and data driven decision making the position helps set standards and best practices to elevate learning effectiveness for both compliance and non-compliance learning.
Leadership: This role requires strong leadership without necessarily having direct reports. They will lead through influence, guiding cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Responsibilities include leading the end to end project process through effective communication and collaboration. The Manager L&D leads by example, promoting Princess Cruises’ values and standards within the L&D team and across the organization. Influences upwards and across departments, fostering collaboration and shared ownership of training outcomes. Demonstrates accountability, resilience, and a proactive approach to challenges, inspiring others to achieve excellence in training delivery and governance.

Requirements:
4+ years of management experience or equivalent experience in leading projects/programs is required
Background in leading and delivering project process for all learning initiatives
Strong prior experience in project management and stakeholder engagement skills across departments is necessary
Proven track record of implementing blended learning strategies and driving continuous improvement in training delivery required
Strong prior project management and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as a proven ability to manage compliance processes, are essential
Strong understanding of Learning Models and their applications, particularly in maritime contexts
Experience in project management and collaborating with multiple stakeholders across departments is necessary
Strong attention to detail
Ability to manage complex processes across multiple stakeholders
Strategic thinking with a focus on compliance and operational excellence
Travel: No or very little travel likely
Work Conditions:Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Physical Demands:Work beyond normal business hours or on weekends may be required occasionally to support business needs, projects, or operations.
This position is classified as “Hybrid.” As a Hybrid role, it requires employees to work from a designated Holland office Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.
