Job Description

One of the best-known names in cruising, Princess is the world’s leading international premium cruise line and tour company, carrying millions of guests each year to hundreds of destinations around the globe.  We give our guests the Medallion Class experience others simply can’t. The Love Boat promises something for everyone.

The Manager, Enrichment is responsible for developing, executing, and continuously improving Princess Cruises' fleet-wide signature Enrichment program. This role curates destination-focused, culturally relevant programming that connects guests to the destinations, cultures, and experiences that define each voyage, while maintaining clear separation from revenue-generating onboard activities. The role manages enrichment presenter recruitment, scheduling, onboarding, vendor/talent relationships, operating budget inputs, and cross-functional coordination with Entertainment Operations, shipboard teams, and communications partners to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across trades and ship classes.

Here’s a summary of what Princess is looking for in a Manager, Enrichment.  Is this you?

Responsibilities:

Signature Enrichment Program Development and Fleet-Wide Execution

  • Lead the development, refinement, and fleet-wide rollout of Princess Cruises' signature Enrichment program, ensuring that all programming is thoughtfully curated to reflect each destination, trade, and guest demographic while remaining fully separate from revenue-generating onboard activities.

  • Build and maintain the full suite of enrichment programming categories, including talks and workshops led by cultural practitioners, port talks, guided ship tours, destination-themed music and trivia, secondary sail-away parties with navigational narration, scenic cruising narration, and recorded and on-demand port talks and scenic content.

  • Develop enrichment programming guidelines, standards, and playbooks for shipboard teams, ensuring that Cruise Directors and onboard entertainment staff have the tools and context needed to deliver the enrichment program consistently and compellingly across the fleet.

  • Ensure that all enrichment programming is regionally calibrated and flexed to the specific trade, with appropriate intensity and relevance for each itinerary, from Alaska to the Caribbean to Australia and beyond.

Programming Standards, Scheduling, and Cross-Team Coordination

  • Partner with the Senior Manager, Programming and Operations to ensure that enrichment programming is intentionally placed within the voyage arc, with events scheduled to complement rather than compete with other entertainment programming and revenue activity.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Activities and Family Programming and the Manager, Music Programming to develop destination-infused programming that weaves enrichment themes through music, activities, and interactive experiences across the fleet.

  • Collaborates with the Manager, Guest Entertainers on process efficiencies, leveraging shared resources to drive optimal onboard guest experience whilst maintaining cost discipline.

  • Ensure that enrichment programming is accurately and compellingly represented in the Princess Patter, the Princess app, and any pre-cruise guest communications, working with the Entertainment Operations team and the relevant communications functions to elevate the visibility of the enrichment offer.

  • Maintain up-to-date programming documentation including enrichment calendars, presenter contracts, talent rosters, and operational records to support the smooth execution of the program at scale.

Product Quality, Guest Experience, and Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores and qualitative feedback related to enrichment programming across the fleet, identifying trends and developing data-informed action plans to address gaps and elevate performance.

  • Evaluate the enrichment program against evolving guest preferences, industry trends, and the broader Princess Enriched strategic framework, bringing forward recommendations for new programming formats, topics, and talent categories on a regular basis.

  • Conduct regular competitive benchmarking to ensure Princess Cruises' enrichment offer remains relevant, differentiated, and genuinely valuable to the Voyager guest and the Social Adventurer segments that the brand prioritizes.

  • Partner with the Entertainment Operations team to develop new enrichment concepts, pilot them in targeted trades, and build a data-supported case for fleet-wide rollout when results warrant it.

Budget Management and Financial Accountability

  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget for enrichment programming and presenter talent, including talent fees, scheduling costs, materials, and operational expenses associated with enrichment delivery across the fleet.

  • Monitor expenditures against budget on an ongoing basis, reforecasting as needed and implementing cost-effective solutions that protect program quality without exceeding budgetary parameters.

  • Manage vendor and talent contracts in compliance with company procurement policies, coordinating with Legal, HR, and Supply Chain as required to ensure all engagements are appropriately documented and administered.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Scope: This role has fleet-wide programming reach across the full Princess Cruises fleet, shaping the enrichment experience on every voyage across every trade. Based shoreside the Manager, Enrichment sits within the Entertainment Operations vertical and partners regularly with the Senior Manager, Programming and Operations, and peer Managers across music, guest entertainers, activities, and family programming. Externally, the role manages an ongoing portfolio of presenter talent relationships across a wide range of specialist disciplines.

  • Problem solving: The core challenge of this role is building and sustaining a high-quality, trade-flexible enrichment program that feels genuinely curated rather than generic, across a fleet of ships serving vastly different destinations and guest mixes simultaneously. Operational problem solving includes filling last-minute presenter vacancies on voyages with specific expertise requirements, adapting programming when a trade or itinerary changes, and balancing the desire for programming ambition against the practical constraints of shipboard scheduling windows and available budget. The role also requires the judgment to evaluate enrichment of presenter performance and make difficult talent decisions when the quality bar is not being met.

  • Impact: The Manager, Enrichment has a direct and meaningful impact on a strategic priority that is central to the Princess Enriched initiative and the broader entertainment evolution the company is executing. Enrichment programming is one of the most frequently cited elements of the cruise experience in guest feedback, particularly for the Voyager segment, and the quality of this program directly influences guest satisfaction scores, NPS, and repeat booking rates. This role builds a function that did not previously exist as a standalone discipline within the department, which means the standards, processes, and talent relationships established here will define the enrichment product for years to come.

  • Leadership: This role carries direct people leadership responsibility for one shoreside direct report, the Specialist, Enrichment, who supports the day-to-day coordination and delivery of enrichment programming across the fleet. In addition to managing this direct report, the Manager, Enrichment exercises significant leadership through the oversight and management of a large and diverse roster of rotational enrichment talent across multiple disciplines and concurrent voyages. Talent selection, scheduling, performance evaluation, and relationship management for this external roster require strong independent judgment and the ability to make difficult decisions when the quality bar is not being met. The role also leads through influence across a team of programming peers, shaping how enrichment integrates with music, activities, guest entertainers, and scheduling across the broader Operations vertically.

For all roles:

  • Knowledge: Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.

  • Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Abilities: Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance / Capacity to be punctual and meet deadlines / Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team / Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions and tasks.

Essential/Minimum Qualifications:

Essential experience required:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing destination-focused, cultural, or enrichment programming in a cruise, hospitality, travel, or live event environment.

  • Proven experience recruiting, contracting, scheduling, and managing a diverse roster of specialist or performance talent across concurrent engagements.

  • Experience in creating programming standards, guidelines, playbooks, or operational guides for distributed or shipboard teams.

  • Experience managing operating budget inputs, talent fees, scheduling costs, and related operational expenses with financial accountability.

  • Strong working knowledge of guest experience principles in the premium cruise or travel industry, including the connection between programming quality, guest satisfaction, and repeat business outcomes.

  • Preferred: Cruise line enrichment, programming, or guest entertainment operations experience; familiarity with shipboard scheduling systems and Cruise Director operations; experience managing destination-focused or trade-specific programming across multiple simultaneous itineraries; working knowledge of Princess Cruises' Enriched strategic initiative, fleet structure, and Voyager guest profile.

Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

**This position is classified as “hybrid.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Princess location Mondays through Thursdays.  Fridays you can work from home.
