We are looking for an amazing Data Analyst, Technical Programs and Decarbonization to fill this role, which is based in our Fort Lauderdale office. You will support the company’s ambition for continuous emissions reduction as well as progress towards and improving upon the company’s sustainability goals. As a Data Analyst, Technical Programs and Decarbonization, you will work with the technical programs & decarbonization team in support of our energy saving and emission reduction analysis programs within the Maritime Operations Dept.

You will lead the development and analysis of initiatives aimed at minimizing fleet energy consumption, enhancing safety, and promoting environmental sustainability. Aligning these projects with the overarching strategies of the corporate energy conservation, sustainability, environmental and safety groups, all while working to optimize operations and streamline processes across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of energy consumption, fuel usage, and emissions reduction programs to ensure alignment with corporate sustainability and decarbonization objectives
  • Analyze vessel performance data to monitor energy efficiency, validate the impact of energy-saving initiatives, and propose actionable improvements                                              
  • Design and implement advanced data analytics tools, utilizing platforms like Python, SQL, and Power BI to measure and track sustainability and decarbonization initiatives
  • Support the implementation of sustainability-focused technical projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently and align with energy-saving and environmental objectives  
  • Collaborate internally and with external partners to explore innovative solutions and develop strategies to achieve decarbonization goals                                                 
  • Facilitate the development and adoption of updated processes, tools, and methodologies to improve team workflow efficiency and project effectiveness
  • Actively engage with shipboard personnel, corporate departments, and external stakeholders to promote the adoption and success of key sustainability and decarbonization initiatives                      
  • Performs other duties as assigned                       

Requirements

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and SQL for data analysis, automation, and visualization tasks
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure to efficiently manage and process large-scale datasets
  • Ability to create clear insights using tools such as Power BI and other visualization software.
  • Proficient in using computer applications to clean, analyze, model, and interpret data to develop actionable solutions
  • Skillset to generate high-quality reports and presentations, translating intricate analyses into easily comprehensible visuals
  • Naturally inquisitive and able to undertake research and development activities either collaboratively or independently
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and collaborating with different departments to fulfil requested tasks
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities and working efficiently under pressure to meet tight project deadlines                                                               
  • 1 to 5 years experience in a data analytics or data science role within maritime, energy management or performance engineering
  • Demonstrable experience in cruise ship performance analysis is desirable
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status)

This position is considered Hybrid and follows the Company’s schedule of three days in the office per week (Tuesday – Thursday). However, beginning in 2027, employees in this position will be required to work on-site at our new headquarters in Miami, FL.
